  1. Lance: No worries I was well aware of those issues going into this project. I think I'd rather live with the dimensional issues of the 1/72 kit than try to wrestle with starting the 1/48 version (again). While there are issue with dimension, the cockpit detail and "working" canopies that will need to be fixed, the Monogram kit doesn't seem to be a bad build for a 32-year-old offering (and still the only one in 1/72 that I know of) in terms of how the wings fit etc (I stress that this is "so far," I may run into unforssen issues beyond test fitting).   2. Rick: Thanks, you and I are talking about the same photo when it comes to the gun cover, interesting photo! Yeah, I'm really after nit-picky details and think I'll use much of the same painting/details as the H and D models. I hate how simple projects always seem to grow in their scope....
  3. Greetings. I'm in the process of piecing together a more accurate F-82F/G using the old Monogram kit. I'm not shooting for 100% accuracy with this kit but I would like to improve a few of the "black holes" that plauge this kit. This started as a "weekend" out-of-the-box build and my AMS (advanced modeler syndrome) quickly kicked in.... Anyway: 1) I seem to have found a photo that shows the panel covering the 50-cals could be taken all the way off, was this access panel normally hinged (and opened to the front of the a/c) or was it a free panel with no hinges (or both) 2) Just what was in
