  1. Hobbysearch posted several test shots of Academy's SUFA. Hobbyeasy posted sprue shots of added parts. Link1, Link2, Link3, Link4, Link5, Link5
  2. The sample of Academy's SUFA is posted to MMZ. It is written that the kit would be released around April and the initial release of the kit would be a limited edition including option parts like metal pitot tube.
  3. Academy posted several images of their new F-15I. I also found a preview of Academy's F-15I.
  4. A guy in MMZ mentioned that he read Academy's 2010 catalog. He wrote that 1/72 F-22, F-4B and F-18 Blue Angels were announced. I heard that it was not allowed to take photos of the diagram of Academy's F-16I in HobbyFair 2010. From what I read from MMZ board, it seems like at least new glare shield and nose cone will be added. The nose cone will be in 2 pieces like Tamiya's 1/48 kit. It is still not clear to what extent Academy will fix their 1/32 F-16, though.
  5. Hasegawa posted some images of their new 1/48 Raptor to their website.
  6. When a guy asked about the release date of Academy's 1/72 F-16I on Academy's board, the webmaster replied that 1/32 F-16I will be released before 1/72 viper. So it looks like they are going to release 1/32 F-16I not F-16D. The webmaster also mentioned that the 1/32 F-16I will be released around December in Korea. He also said that the official release of the model will be announced on their webpage soon (may in a week or so).
  7. A review of newly released F-15E OIF was posted on MMZ. The guy also added a review on the photo-etched parts of the kit.
  8. It is list on the Academy's release list for 3rd quarter of 2009
  9. Just check Academy's website. You can see the configuration of the new kit's parts.
  10. Academy announced that they are going to release 1/72 F-16I in their 2009 catalog.
  11. No hope we'll see BAC Lightning from Academy because the item was cancelled after the release of Trumpeter's.
  12. Whether you like it or not, Academy seems to be releasing a new F-15E kit in the second quarter of 2009. Below is the description of the product: - Various accessories and ordnances including AN/AAQ-33 Sniper XR, GBU-12 - Photo-etched parts and a detailed decal printed by Cartograf will be included I am still hoping that they retool the upper fuselage of their old kit.
  13. You are correct. It is mentioned in MMZ article that Academy worked on engine nacelles to smooth the edges.
  14. MMZ posted sprue shots of Academy's F-15K. They are saying that Academy is also going to release F-15E in the future.
  15. A rumor in Korea says that it is highly likely that Academy's F-5E would be cancelled and AFV club's F-5E has nothing to do with Academy. No wonder they really cancelled the item considering they cancelled 1/72 EE Lightning after the release of Trumpeter's.
  16. There are posted some better quality photos on MMZ than those on academy web site.
  17. Now you can see the test shot of the kit from this link.
  18. Check this link. You can see some photos of the kit's tooling.
  19. As you see from the picture below, wing tips of F/A-18 are bent toward ground. Hasegawa and Monogram got this point properly but Hobbyboss made their kits' wings just flat.
  20. Sorry for my unclear expression. I don't think the kit has any serious shape problem and just tried to refute DutyCat's claim that the fuselage in the cockpit area looks too thick with the photos in Zawa's homepage. About the issues, the kit's too vertical landing gear (like Hasegawa kit) was already discussed in this forum and it can be corrected with little twisting. And the blue stripe decal on the vetical wing should be split into two pieces as you see from photos. Other minor issues, I am refering to those discussed in Dave Roof's review.
  21. Zawa's LoneStar Please refer to the link above. The kit has its own minor issues but I think its shape is not as bad as Fujimi's.
  22. You can download the instruction from the link below Academy 1/32 F/A-18
  23. No. The kit does not contain updated tall TACAN antenna. By the way, I figured out that Academy F-14's nose shape can be corrected dramatically by replacing its lower nose piece and nose cone with Revell offerings. Seen from the side, it is clear that the academy F-14's fat nose is due to short nose cone and fat lower nose. Luckily, the Academy's upper nose matches perfectly with Revell one's lower and relatively well with nose cone even though little putty's required there. Thus, its fat and short nose could be corrected by duplicating Revell kit's parts.
  24. I bought an Academy's bombcat at local hobby shop yesterday. The original lower nose and gun vent are retained in the kit. For the modelers in USA, it would be great choice to buy a Revell F-14B and update it with Academy Bombcat's new parts. Unfortunately, the old fuselage was not chaged at all. (It means that the funky nose was not changed either) However, its new decal looks fine to me and the ordances shows how Academy guys' technology improved after 1988.
