  1. Wow!!! (Again.) Thank you for the additional photos and for clarifying that the cylindrical magazine only contained the ammunition for the 40mm grenade launcher. This 'conversation' is an excellent example of how forums like this assist (and educate) the broader modelling audience. Thank you, once again. Cheers, Wayne. 🙂
  2. Wow! Thank you Snake36bravo, that's exactly what I was looking for. Hmmm... got to admit, I wasn't expecting such a complex surface texture on the magazine. Now you've got me wondering how to replicate that detail. Cheers, Wayne
  3. Thanks for your prompt replies, guys! Firstly, thank you HeavyArty for the helpful images you have posted. As good as they are, however, it's close-up photos that I'm seeking the most. Aren't there any magazine drums (or whatever you call them) sitting or displayed in a museum somewhere? Floyd, thank you for also chiming in. I'm so glad to hear that 'The Crystal Ship' has found its way onto one of your decal sheets - here's hoping that sells well enough to result in a 1/32 offering. Cheers, Wayne
  4. Hi John?, Thanks for your reply and the image. I'm actually looking for detailed photos of the gun's magazine that is located directly beneath the crew compartment, not the gun itself. I am also an LSP member and have been following your online build, which is excellent. I see you feel the same way I do about the limited marking options (decals) that are available for these kits. If true, it's a shame that Floyd has chosen not to offer 1/32 decal options on his sheet(s). Cheers, Wayne
  5. Hi everyone, I'm gathering photo references (walk-around images) in preparation for a 1/32 scale build of an AH-1G. I've hit a hurdle because I can't find any decent images of the cylindrical magazine these aircraft carried beneath the cockpit. Does anyone have any images they'd be willing to post for all of us to share? Also, given the apparent popularity of these kits, I'm surprised at the lack of aftermarket decals that are available. I know Floyd Werner intends to release some decals but I have no idea what specific machines he has in mind. I'm also aware that Art Sca
  6. Hi Jake, Yes, I am aware of your very nice part 2 sheet but I'd prefer not to build an aircraft with a Have Glass paint scheme. Do you plan on making anymore 1/32 scale F-16 decal sheets with the 'original' 2 or 3 tone paint schemes? (An Arizona ANG single or twin seat option would be awesome! nudge, nudge, wink, wink! :))
  7. Hi Jake, Unfortunately, I missed out on your large scale Viper sheet SHG32006 and I can't find it online anywhere. Are you planning to re-issue this particular sheet in 1/32 scale? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Wayne
  8. Hi Ray, Wow, I've just had one of those 'penny dropped' moments. So the entire backrest seat cushion is a diffuser outlet for the ECS? Genius! Thank you, so much, for clearing that up (and for the excellent pictures and diagram). 🙂 Cheers, Wayne
  9. Hi Ray, Thank you for replying to my message so promptly. Yes, I see the ducting that is attached to the front seat so your images are most helpful in that regard. Just a couple of quick questions for you though: Is the outlet duct attached to the front or back of the seat armour? Where does the front crewman's ECS piping exit the central frame/bulkhead from? Finally, did the AH-1G's have a tubular backrest frame behind the armour? Sorry to be pain :) Kind regards, Wayne
  10. Hi everyone, I've pulled the trigger on ICM's early version of the AH-1G and will also be buying one of their latter versions. In the meantime, I've dragged out my ancient Revell 1/32 kit and decided to build her. I've been looking out for good references, particularly of the cockpit, but until this thread appeared, nothing much seemed to be out there. I've sent numerous emails to the museum at Fort Rucker and haven't even received acknowledgement of their receipt. I've also sent emails to a couple of other museums and the consistent reply I receive is somethin
  11. Hi Everyone, I'm gathering bits and pieces to build Revell's 1/32 scale AH-1G and would like to find a set of Fireball Modelworks' decals for this kit. Is anyone able to help me, please? Kind regards, Wayne Melbourne, Australia
  12. Hi John, I've long had an interest in aviation and space exploration but have never studied the airframes of the rockets that put men into space. I've just bought a Dragon 1/72 Saturn V and will build it in much the same way as you have - not being overly concerned about the obvious issues with this kit. Pardon my ignorance but I'm not sure why you have cut down the section you have using the Dremel drill press. Did you do this because Dragon messed up the dimensions of the relevant section or did you do it to aid painting of the roll markings? (or some other reason.). Lo
  13. Hi Jason, I'm currently building this kit. I think it's fair to say that Hasegawa's P-51D is generally accepted to be the best 1/32 scale kit of this aircraft. The shape and 'fit' of the kit are, in my opinion, quite good. What's more, it's a fairly simple kit to build OOB. I don't know enough about the various releases to comment on the different issues/versions of this kit. If you want to detail the model, there are plenty of aftermarket accessories for it. Verlinden and Wingz are two manufacturers who make cockpit detail sets for this kit. True Details make resin wheel assemblies,
