Tamiya 1/32 F-14 vs Trumpeter 1/32 F-14 price difference
ElectroSoldier replied to Ed DeVivo's topic in General Discussion
$167? I remember that being in the region is £69.99 back then! Quinta is the one. I was really impressed with them, I wasnt expecting what I got with all the details on the panels. Ill take your word for it, its not a model Ive considered in all these years. -
We could send international shipments, it was just the amount of paperwork required that stopped people, and especially businesses. Companies like Hannants have a system to pick pack label and bag their international orders and then the post office pick the bags up. The RM system that allowed Hannants to print their labels was down. The amount of orders made keeping up with demand impossible.

Tamiya 1/32 F-14 vs Trumpeter 1/32 F-14 price difference
ElectroSoldier replied to Ed DeVivo's topic in General Discussion
Oh right. You know its been so long since I built it I cant remember any of that... But then 25 years+ does tend to cloud the memories, the only think I remember was it had VF-84 decals... Mind you Ive been using a fair few of these new 3D printed cockpits now. So Im not sure that would bother me. The Tomcat always had the same weapons. AIM-7, 9, 54 and that was it! What more do you want? -

Tamiya 1/32 F-14 vs Trumpeter 1/32 F-14 price difference

The manufacturing price of a Tamiya kit is quite reasonable, the high retail prices you see come from shipping in low quantities and shocking retail markups. -
In that case Hannants must have been taking them to the post office to process one by one but the RM offered no batch business service until they announced it was restored 🙂

Tamiya 1/32 F-14 vs Trumpeter 1/32 F-14 price difference
ElectroSoldier replied to Ed DeVivo's topic in General Discussion
It very much depends on where you get it from. I can get a Tamiya Black knights F-14 for £87 while the cheapest Trumpeter F-14A I can fine is £113.95. Both prices include shipping. Sites PlazaJapan for Tamiya and ebay for Trumpeter. -
Royal Mail have announced that international shipments have been restored for business customers as of today. However international shipments for none businesses is still offering up problems but it possible.

Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and Iwata Revolution HP-BR question..
ElectroSoldier replied to F-16's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
If you get the CS then just dont bother with a CR. It will be nothing your CS cant give you. If you are thinking about another airbrush because you would like two, for instance to use one for metallics, or for primers, then a much much cheaper airbrush like this one is a better bet. Airbrush Gun kit Fengda FE-180K with 0,2mm and 0,3mm Nozzle : Amazon.co.uk: Home & Kitchen Its not something I would recommend unless you already had a reliable workhorse. It has been said above that there is no difference between an Iwata and a GSI. If that is true then there is no -
Yeah its 128 and its on the sprue with the British IFR probe. I dont have that version of the kit buddy, only the older version without it. You need somebody with the Euro 1 camo C-130H on the box art I think.

What weapon loadout can be used on this pylon for the F/18C?
ElectroSoldier replied to blakeh1's topic in Jet Modeling
Oh right I see what it is now. It tells you to put them together for the AMRAMMs. I didnt realise I had that bit 🙂 So the Vertical Ejector Rack in part 49 can only carry MK-82 bombs and not a pair of Mk-83 or PGMs? -

Are you sure? Ive got 3 of the buggers and I cant find it anywhere! So what does the kit come with? The instructions just call it a BRU-33. What can the kit part carry? Im guessing the BRU-55 can carry a pair of GBU-12s in addition to the JDAM? I dont think the decals I have are contemporary to the JDAM series of weapons. Kit decals or VFA-97 -
Now now Dave! hehe Its not that bad! Well I do hope not anyway, I must confess I havent actually built it yet, Im waiting for some interest

Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and Iwata Revolution HP-BR question..
ElectroSoldier replied to F-16's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
If you are looking for a cheaper version of the HP-CS then the GSI Creos airbrushes are well worth looking into. The PS274 is closer to the HP-CS than any other of their line which is on PlazaJapan for £69. The fit and finish of their airbrushes isnt as good as Iwata but its more than good enough quality to make you think its high quality unless you hold both at the same time. Performance wise Its hard to tell any difference between them at all. The PS270 brings a MAC valve to the HP-CS meaning its more like the HP-CH but with a .02 nozzle which means you will need to t -

Is this Reskit item for the 33/A or 33A/A ? BRU-55 Smart Bomb Racks for F-18 (2 pcs) (1/32) (reskit-models.com) And where can you get that wonderful looking dual AIM-120 launcher from in 1:32? -
Im not quite sure what parts you are asking for there buddy.

Im not really sure what bombs came with the original release of the kit, they seem to be the wrong size for anything... The second release had the GBU-57 MOAB, third release was indeed the AGM-158 missiles. The other difference is the decals. First release has decals for America, New York and Mississippi. Second release has decals for Arizona, Indiana and Texas Third release seems to be the same as second release. Arizona, Indiana and Texas.

This is without a doubt the biggest and hardest step. Starting. If you really want to do it you will learn it, if you dont then you wont. Personally I have no desire to learn to use any of these programs to make my own parts for my models. I have thus far been quite happy to buy some STL files and print some minis I wouldnt otherwise have been able to own.

When you think youre having a bad day
ElectroSoldier replied to ElectroSoldier's topic in Test Post Clubhouse
They got that way just after it was released and stayed there. Kittyhawk didnt seem to want to use distributers so they struggled to get their products out into the mass market which limited sales and so limited the amount of kits in the wild. -
Im with you there. I dont think we will ever see any real amount of downloadable files that allow the user to print their own XXX. That may change with some DRM but that would need to be in the printer as well as in the file you download so the manufacturer can make it so the file you download can only be printed on your printer. People sharing the files they pay is a problem for manufacturers. Its not something Ive found in the miniature wargaming scene yet but the relative exclusivity of a model is one of the things that gives it value. By which I mean I know a fair few
