  1. Am I correct that the Ukrain option is not realistic for this kit regarding the wrong Stinger? Ukrain Flankers (single) only have the old rounded style stinger, without the chaff/flare boxes I believe. Correct me if I am wrong. Ronald
  2. I agree with Berkut on this one. I built one last year, it's also here on ARC. The model itself looks like it is built very well but since this is the critique corner: - Wing fences and large chaff boxes on the rear; They don't come with eachother. It's the fences only or the large chaff boxes only. Trumpeter has made this "mistake" but the correct parts (2 small intakes) are also in the box, not mentioned in the instructions. Only updated Fencers, with no wing fences on top, have the large boxes on the rear. - Spoilers on the wings are open only when the plane is landing, not when standing
  3. Very nice build and I like the camouflage. Ronald
  4. Before the camouflage I sprayed the interior color on the outside. The canopy framing itself is from Aires. Quite a job to get it all alligned but things worked out well. In the in-progress link I posted earlier you can see how I did it in detail. The canopy framing is handpainted (the only part on the whole model) because there was a little bit of putty needed to cover up the seem between the frame and canopy itself. Masking the inside was not possible due to all the details inside. Thanks for all the replies guys! Ronald
  5. Here ya go: As you can see in the previous pictures, there are no Polish insignias on the top, only on the bottom of the wings. MiG-29's from Poland have the same; I am not sure if all aircraft from Poland have this "feature". thanks for watching. Ronald
  6. Thanks for your reply. The Zactoman set is a rather nice detail that can be added but I'm leaving it this way. Construction of the kit is very nice but the aft section of the main body is a bit tricky. There is no alignment or what so ever; When you mount the tail wings you have a good reference if it's in line with the rest. On the fuselage parts and intake parts there is a mold seam running all over, from the front to the end. You get this also with the 1:32 Flanker kit on the intakes. It is in Dutch language but the whole building process (120+ photo's) can be seen here: http://www.mod
  7. The Aires set fitted like a glove, realy. Just a little bit of sanding on the outside, no big chunks like you often have to do. For the wheelbays it was just putting them in and add some glue, easy as that. Thanks for the kind replies. Ronald
  8. Just finished: MiG-23Mf from Trumpeter. Nice kit to build with a few minor points to take care off. I used the Aires cockpit set and the wheelbayset from the same company. Decals came from Linden Hill: Excellent! Paints I used are from Gunze and Alclad. Washes with Humbrol enamels and some wheatering with pastels. The MLG wheeldoors are a bit too steep/high. I will try to fix that but there is almost no room for placing these parts otherwise. Please let me know what you think of it, critique or comments are welcome. Regards from the Netherlands, Ronald
  9. I built one last year, completely out of the box. http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=212741&st=0 Nice kit to build and on this moment the aftermarket stuff is getting on the market. Ronald
  10. Totally missed those buttons for opening the canopy, I wil add that. On photo's they appear mostly black with a bit of grey left on them. I was aware of the inner pylons, a collegue modeler pointed that out earlier but thanks anyway! Also an "issue" that is simply added. The scuff marks are a common thing on these Phantoms and can't be missed in my opinion. I used to be photographing military jets and saw many Phantom's in Germany, Hopsten to be exactly. For the steps I will add them and I'm thinking to do a bit more on the intakes. Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Ronald
  11. Just finished: 1:32 Revell kit, completely out of the box. wI used Gunze colors, Alclad II for the engine area. Postshading with different shades of gray, washes with Humbrol enamels. Further Wheatering with the Tamiya wheatering set and some pastels. Nice kit to build, no issues and fits nicely. Some minor tweaks to make things like a F-4f like the tail (rounded edge) and height of the aft cockpit. Kitdecals went on without problems. Thanks for watching and comments/critique: welcome. Ronald
  12. And again, a wonderful model from Mr. Honza. Ronald
  13. Awesome! Looks like 1/48 or even 1/32 with this level of detail. Ronald

  15. Very neat build. Not an easy kit but you did an excellent job on it. The finish looks great. Ronald
