Retail on the 1/32 A-7 is 139.95......yet I never paid more than 85.00....I'll wait until they are actually available and see what the 'real' price is.

I believe you are refering to a contour gauge. Micro Mark has them.

You might try Woodland Scenics dry transfers. Should be able to locate them at your LHS/model RR section. Also through Tower Hobbies.

IMHO, it sounds as though you are painting the tan last? Usually, you would paint the light colors first and then proceed on to the darker ones. I use MM enamels for most of my projects and have gotten into the habit of dropping 'paint marble' into each jar. This helps to keep the paint mixed and break up the pigment. I got mine from a local automotive paint supplier, used in 'touch-up' bottles.

The 114th TFTS, which is what the markings are for, flew all C's. The dark grey eagles are for lo-viz, the black eagles are for standard AF grey or SEA camo with hi-viz stars and bars. The 123rd FIG-OLAD that was based here did have 2 D's. These are the 'Red-Tailed Hawks'. I have numerous photos of these AC if you need more info.

I have the cockpit set in 1/32 and it seems to be almost a drop-in fit.
