  1. What would you guys reccomend to lubricate the trigger on a Iwata HP-CS? The up and down motion to get air isnt releasing smoothly. Back and forth for paint works fine. Thanks Aaron

Heres some quick pics of the resin engine with cylinders on.
  3. Again, dont care to do that much work (rescribing or sanding) as I mentioned earlier, so I will just wait for the 32nd scale one that is supposed to come out soon. Wont be adding turrets as the one I flew in didnt have one. Have built one ROG kit and just didnt like the fit problems including the small gap that goes around each wing where it meets the fuselage and the bottom of the nose that the canopy sits on. No biggie, gives me time to finish what I have got on the board now.
  4. Thanks! Yes its the Collins bird. The pilot is one of 3 people who are type certified in all three birds B17, B24, and B25 concurrently. Met the second guy on our flight. It was a blast! And yes its a small tight crawl but got some great shots! Crawled over the bomb bay in flight to get to the waist gunners stations and that was worse! Much easier to go through the rear hatch I must say. Very cool to be met at the airport by a crowd of onlookers wanting to peek inside.
  5. Havent read any reviews of the AM kit, so no. Revell kit has atrocious armor plates that will have to be removed. Dont want to do that much. No rivet detail on the ROG kit either. Like the appearance of the AM kit better. Any links to guide me in the right direction? Thanks Aaron
  6. Hey guys, Are there any conversion kits available to make a 48th B-25J out of a AM B-25C/D? I really dont like the Monogram/Revell kit. Thanks! Btw, here are some shots I took when I rode in the bird below today!
  7. That would be great! Thanks again.
  8. Thanks for the help guys. Aaron

I've heard of that, but Id be scared of pulling the paint off too. Do you have ridges around the letters where the final coat was applied? Enamels or Acrylics?

How do you get rid of the ridge around the decal when using your own decals? I always seem to get a hard line. Maybe cutting to hard, not just through the film? Thanks Aaron

Dont know what the green bands colorwise are. Im having the pilot speak with the painter to get a close match. As far as the yellow/green, its not a historically accurate scheme for the reason the pilot told me today, and I quote "All three of the airplanes we operate are SNJ-6's, which means even though they were Navy, they never had a tailhook or anything like hardpoints. They were just used as instrument trainers at Pensacola. They are painted in our generic Warbird Adventures scheme representing the USAF, Navy and Marines because we got tired of the airplane spotters telling us how our
  13. Hey guys, Looking for some reference material for original factory interior colors for the Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Im looking for around an early 70's model, but will look at anything. If anyone has any ref pics from original brochures or the like they could scan or know of online that would be great. I have done some googling and come up with a few pics but nothing definitive. Thanks Aaron

I used the photoetched wwII navy belts. I thought they added a little bit of interest in the cockpit as well. Thanks!

Hey Joe, Actually the green bands will be painted. I have some lettering that will have to be custom (see pics below) unless there are decals already made for the lettering I need. Not a big deal really, used to making my own, it's kind of fun!

I guess those things take time. Im still working on my T-6, although slowly. Im ready to put wings on mine. The top cowling piece that goes on the fuse had a little trouble fitting. Something in the interior cage was a little too big causing the fuse halves not to mate perfectly together, maybe sanding the frame points where it contacts the insided of the fuse would help? Make sure to post progress pics of yours or send me a link. Aaron
  18. Thanks for the info and pics guys. Post photos soon.
  19. What color would you guys suggest for the panel lines on a 1/32 Spitfire with the brown and green scheme? thanks!

Hey guys, just an update to let you know this isnt dead, just been a while with work etc. I should be posting something early next week. Thanks Aaron
  22. Would I have to clear coat the decal sheet before applying or just top coat the model once applied?
  23. What have you guys found is the easiest way to put on dry transfers as far as aligning the text to be straight lines. For example, I want to put the text "www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com on the side of a fuselage, where x is the company name, and no its not all x's. :) Thanks for the help. Aaron

Thanks, the camera certainly brings out all flaws not seen before, I have a little touch up to do. But from a foot away its almost invisible.
