  1. Does anyone know of a list of Liveries Unlimited Airliner decals with photos of decal sheets? Ive researched and found a few but am looking for that "special" scheme that catches my eye. Have been over to Airline Hobby Supply and most of the descriptions dont have pics but have ordered some from there. Also been to drawdecals and saw a few. thanks Aaron
  2. Is it ok to sand off the panel lines on a 1/200 scale 747 or is it better to rescribe since they are raised? Just want some opinions on what others have done to compare. Also what about windows, fill in with putty or use model master window maker (clear cement)? Thanks Aaron
  3. Hello all, What font was used for the P47 Squadron codes on the fuse sides? I believe they were 36 inches tall. Aaron

    P47 Fuse top

To follow up on my flap question, what color is the correct one for the area behind the pilots seat on top of the fuse. Instructions say its the cockpit color, but ive seen pics with the area painted the color that wraps around the fuse. Its the area that the canopy rail is located, behind the pilot on top of the fuse. Again my scheme is an ocean gray and green wrap around. Thanks again Aaron

    P47 Flaps

I am going to guess this is a field repaint, my scheme resembles Josephine My Flying Machine (Batista's plane?) but I painted the recess on the underside of the wing where the flap goes the bottom color which is sea gray. If I paint the flap area in question natural metal I think the recess should be natural metal as well, yes? As this bird is going to have "fictional" tail codes etc maybe Im just overthinking, but wanted to get it right as I can given the protocol that would have been followed for field repaints. Post pics soon. Aaron

    P47 Flaps

What color was typically used for the portion of the flaps that was hidden while they were retracted? On the Hasegawa 1/32 Jug the upper surface of the flap is raised about a1/32nd of an inch and fits flush when retracted, I am speaking about the portion that is rounded (leading edge and down the inboard side of the flap). The scheme I am using is a wraparound ocean gray/raf green on top with a sea gray on bottom with a red nose and tail (56th Group). I thought they were natural metal. Any doc to support this? Thanks. Aaron

    P47 Help

I am building a 32nd scale jug and need views of each side of the fuse and wings for a green and grey jug like the one below. Its the bubble top version and i am missing the starboard side. Thanks http://www.zotzdecals.com/reviews/zotz32013/32013.htm
  10. I grew up in Wichita and might have a contact at McConnell still. Been there many times. Let me see what I can do. My email is jamalone"at"cox"dot"net if you want to email me personally. Aaron
  11. Gene, The base was a simple coat of white glue thinned and then some railroad ballast sprinkled on. It was then sprayed with scenery cement so it holds the sand together so it doesnt fall off. Also it dries flat which is good. The rocks were cast out of Hydrocal in a rock mold, also in the railroad section of our hobby shop. Just a quick wash of pigment on the rocks and instand scenery. Really very simple.
  12. Thanks for the info. I struggled to find an exact match, didnt know one existed. I mixed paint according to instructions. I will probably do another one. I also used to the walkaround at prime portal here: http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/isaac_ge...ndex.php?Page=3 which looked pretty close to me. Oh well, thats what modelling is all about right?
  13. Yes 1/48th, forgot to add. Just corrected in original.
  14. Heres my 1/48th Hasegawa IDF MD 500 on a simple base. Sorry for the backdrop, limited on space.
  15. Mark, I second Mig31's request for a McConnel Bird. Born and raised there, saw them everyday!
  16. Im sure its been asked before, but who do I contact for replacement Hasegawa parts. I have an F-5, 1/32nd scale that I need some gear door covers. Thanks Aaron
  17. Being from Wichita KS, I wouldnt mind seeing a gray F4C/D in the Kansas ANG Jayhawks scheme. I know you have a camo Jayhawk but a gray one would be cool. I have access to pics as well. Grew up about a mile from the base and flew models close by. Aaron Malone Thanks
  18. Anyone tell me what the closest match is for these? Squadron Walk around shows it more of a yellow chromate than a green chromate. Enamels or acrylics, doesnt matter which. Thanks. Aaron
  19. thanks guys. I would like to know as well if the tub sat that far back. I thought they were flush with that bulkhead as well. Aaron
