  1. Looks great! I got a Tamiya 1/48th M4A1 on tap for a nice change of pace.
  2. This is beyond WOW! This cat is looking Ultra WOW! I need to develop some more of my skills to replicate your level of work in 72nd.
  3. Thanks Brian! I notcied that too. I might load up the airbrush with some gloss to take care of it or when I build Victory 100, I'll remember it. Learning a lot from this build, which is fun. Unfortunately my next F-14 build will be 2 models away. :D Next on tap is a 1/48th M4 Sherman and a 1/72nd F4U-1 Birdcage, both from Tamiya. After that I hope to get on building both AJ213 and Vandy 1. Can't wait.
  4. Well, some good news is the wait is almost over. Got word that we should see this kit in the US within 2 weeks. Here are some pages from the instruction manual.
  5. Thanks everyone! Wish I could post a new update, but I'm way too sick to even lift a paintbrush. Going to cook up some soup and get back to bed. Thanks Brian, Looks like this reference sheet is wrong I just looked up some images of Victory 103 from the internat and the stars and bars are not on the left side wing.
  6. The Tamiya F-16CJ will not disappoint you. If I can get the go ahead, I'll scan the instructions from our sample.
  7. I just fondled one of our samples and it looks good...I meant great. Comes with two canopies one clear and the other smoked. Plenty of weapons to boot. And check this out removable ventral fin and positionable fuel tanks and AN/ALQ-184 ECM pod. The exhaust is seamless and detailed. Expect this baby to come in the next few weeks :) . Too bad I got another project on my workbench :) because I would want to take a crack at this kit. Plus, I'm a slow builder :(

  9. Looking great, wish I wasn't sick so I could finish my 72nd scale verision.
  10. Wow, that is one beautiful model. Well done! The TPS and weathering looks great!
  11. Well, I thought I was going to get a lot done over the 4 day holiday, but model building took a backburner this past weekend. Here is the latest update, Alcad the leading edges of the slats, gun port and intakes. Installed the photoetch parts on the GRU-7's and dabbed some Tamiya Weathering Masters on some of the wear areas and the commings. OOB cockpit
  12. Flat coat applied and exhaust cans exposed for the first time in over 2 months.
  13. Check out this website for some good tips about decanting Tamiya's Spray Paint. Decanting Spray Paint
  14. WOW! That's one great looking F-4. Very inspiring
  15. Okay, which one of you pulled the plug on SOCOM III tonite, the network was down. So instead of geeking on the computer, I busted out the airbrush and coated my current project with a "blend" coat of 1:1:10 of Tamiya's XF19:XF-25:Thinner enamel. Doesn't look like much has changed but to my eye the decals aren't as bright and out of scale as before. Please let me know what your thoughts are? Thanks!
  16. Thanks everyone! I hope to be airbrushing tonite, but I might green up on SOCOM III if the guys at work are greening up as well.
  17. Okay just finished the wash, just waiting for a dry night to airbrush the XF19/XF25 blend coat to tone down the decals before the flat coat. I wonder if the weathering is overdone? Test fit of the GRU-7's Starboard side Port side under different lighting Starboard side Forward section
  18. Awesome job! The 110's look great, did you use Alcad's Pale Burnt Metal for the interior as well?
  19. Speaking of Tomcatpalooza, this thread was on page 11. Wow, got a lot of builds going on. Well here is an update on my build since it's been a while and I'm a slow builder. Finished up the decals last week and started the wash this weekend. Kinda following the Massa Narita's style with this build. Hopefully by next weekend I can get a fading coat on to tone down the Twobob decals. Starboard side not weathered yet. Port side. Overhead left side weathered w/enamel wash and the right side not yet done.
  20. Well, not much new here just finished painting the bird this morning, but didn't take any pics yet. But I do have some from last night while I was masking off the pallets and sensors. Landing Gear Doors Overview
  21. I wonder if this is the new tooled kit? Well, the late 80's tooling. Hasegawa HSG51504 1/72 HSG51504 F-14D Super Tomcat Category: Aircraft Models 1/72
  22. Hey Randy, The office looks great! I noticed that some of the PE overhangs on the left side of the tub, where the boarding step intrudes in to the cockpit. I wonder how that's going to fit? Look foward to the complete build!
