  1. does any one have a valid contact address for RVHP ? Trying to get in touch with them but the box address is no good Any help greatly appreciated👍 Frank
  2. Can anyone explain the differences between the 2 AMK Mig-31 kits? There's #88003 which is the MIG-31BM/BSM and then there's kit # 88008 which is the Mig-31 B/BS. I read somewhere that the second release (88008) was "upgraded" with better cockpit parts and other details. Is this true ? Which one is the best ?? Many thanks in advance F
  3. Does anybody have pictures or a schematic of the smoke oil ejector tube on/in the exhaust cone ? Thanks ! F
  4. Thanks all your guys, Time to sniff glue ! F

  6. Whoa ! Thanks for the heads up HeavyArty !

  8. For what its worth.. I could be wrong, but I remember that Hawk did one a billion years ago. Not sure of the scale, but it was "close" to 1/72 as I remember it. No where near today's standards but......... Frank
  9. I have both of those kits and have mixed and matched most all of the interior parts with no issues. Can't vouch for detail accuracy, but they fit almost perfectly. I'm a big fan of the "F" and truly appreciate the Revell 1/48th scale kit, and have built 3 "F's" and 1 "G".. Then, I ran out of room........... Frank
  10. Very nice shot indeed. Looks to me like an active line bird and not a restoration. Nice shot ! Frank
  11. can you post the link please ? Thanks looking forward to seeing it. Frank
  12. From what I understand, Stevens International already has a warehouse full of Trump stuff that they can't get rid of now. Yup, raising prices even more sounds like a sure fire way to get sell it. Frank
  13. Both Trumpeter and Hobby Boss have ZERO customer service. Retailers and distributors both refuse any help in these situations because Trumpeter and Hobby Boss don't help them either. If they bust open a kit to help their customers, then they're stuck with a non sell able kit themselves. I tried for over two years to get help with missing Hobby Boss kit parts. Never did get a reply.. Squadron "customer service" (where it was purchased from) was no help whatsoever. They were useless. I no longer do any business with Squadron. With kit prices what they are, modelers can ill afford no support w
  14. For a C-82 Packet you can use either the Anigrand 1/144 or 1/72 C-82 kits. AS an FYI Frank
  15. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Balls of steel". Yup, and they carried em around in wheel barrows.. Al & Jack killed the first SAM sight by "fishing" for PRF signals with their primitive nose mounted APR set which detected PRF signals at only 11:00-2:00 off the nose point. Patience was a virtue ! Dsahling, good luck on your project. I hope someday to use the Trump 1/48th F-100F and do a similar build. Frank C.
  16. Al Lamb and Jack Donovan were part of the first WW cadre deploying from Eglin AFB where they flight tested the concept in F-100F airframe's, to Korat RTAB. I think in 1965. After the proof of the WW concept, they returned to Nellis AFB to open up the new WW training syllabus there and worked on the F-4C / F-4D Weasel program. I don't remember Al & Jack having flown the "G" model 105 in combat at least, not to say that they didn't fly G models at all. I could be wrong. If your looking to model Al & Jack, may I suggest that you take a look at an early F-100F WW that they achieved the
  17. Darren, Damn they were beautiful 4's. So glad that I was able to experience their "thunder" on numerous occasions. One memory is how little time they (F-4's)spent on front of the crowd. It wasn't so obvious until the A-4's took over. With the F-4's, you had NOISE and smoke and then they disappeared out of view while setting up the next pass. The A-4's however always seemed to be in crowd view, I loved the A-4's performance, zippy and something always going on. The F-4's however, always did it with POWER and noise. Gotta give my vote to the Rhino that Ben brought to light. Thanks Ben for re
  18. Ah come on Ben. I KNOW that you knew it. It's one of those "maturity" issues that happens as we age like fine wine uncorked. Don't be so hard on yourself, just take an extra pill tonight ! Love that Connie support bird in the back drop. Can you imagine how happy the support guys were when the C-130's were assigned when they could just roll the support gear on and off instead of having to lift it up and down all the time.. I'll bet allot of sweat went along with that support Connie ! Take an extra pill Ben: you'll be just fine. Cheers Frank
  19. As cool the "nose kit" is, I can see where a reluctance to issue such a kit would certainly hurt the complete kit sales. I think that many folks held out waiting for the "F" rather than the "G" because of what the kits cost. I would certainly love to have them both, but finances force picking the most favorite. If your a B-17 affectionado, picking the "best" is very very difficult with this classic. The "G" buffs are lucky. They got their "favorite" right away ! Can't wait for this puppy to arrive. Thanks JimmyDel for all your contributions ! Frank
  20. overall I think that the nose "kit" is a pretty cool concept. It certainly opens the door for nose art ! The kit itself looks amazing. Let's see, if I add another garage car bay, I could use it as the workshop and then ................ Thanks for all the data Jimmy... Frank
  21. Yet ANOTHER Jennings "know it all" commentary. Frank
  22. It depends on what priorities one has. I for one, don't choose to build the "ultimate" PB4Y-1: just a representative example of the airplane. If it's not 10,000 percent accurate: so be it. I will be satisfied and have FUN doing it. Not everything in life has to be "work".. I'm sure that the Cobra kit is outstanding: his work normally is. I just choose not to break the bank doing the kit. I'm not looking for a show stopper, just a basic example of the bird. The prop suggestions are exactly what I was looking for. And I THANK those for taking the time to suggest herein. All I sought was pr
  23. Came across a Matchbox 1/72 Privateer and found that it's missing 6 prop blades. Wondering if any spare units are buried in anybody spares box somewhere ?? Or, are there any aftermarket props out there. Couldn't find any so far I'm thinking maybe even 1/72 B-24 props would work, but I think that they (B-24) are more of a fat paddle bladed units. Could be wrong.. I know that the matchbox Privateer isn't the best kit out there, but it the only Privateer in town. Any help will be rewarded for of course. Cheers Fellow Glue Sniffers.. Frank
