  1. Hi, It's time for an update on my progress with the mighty Su-7. I had some trouble with the nosecone. It isn't large enough. So I added some strips of plasticard to it. And now it fits. The cockpit has been glued in the fuselage. The nosecone will go in as soon as the paint has dryed. I've also put the droptanks together. The plastic fins has been exchanged with Eduards PE. And as per Dndieje's tip I've carved away the bottom of the fin to get a clean fit of the tail. Unfortunally I've already glued it toghether before I got that excellent tip. So I had to dri
  2. Hi, My Shablool is finally finished. This build tried a few times to beat me, but I stayed with it and now it's done. I added the last bits to it earlier today. And now it resides in the bookcase along with my collection of IDF/AF F-16's It was a very demanding build and I'm glad that's finished. I think it'll be awhile before I start another F-4. Now I'm going to clean up my desk so I'll be ready when the Arctic/Antarctic GB starts. Take Care /Bosse
  3. This looks like fun. Great start Pompeo. /Bosse
  4. Thanks alot Dndieje. I'll remember this when I come to that stage. I really appreciate your help. Take care /Bosse @Aigore - Janne we all know that you have a loveaffair with putty Thanks for your picture. I will come handy when I have to putty up my misstakes. /Bosse
  5. Thank you Dndieje, If I understand you right I have to carve an inverted U-shape in the base of the fin to get a good fit. Best Regards /Bosse
  6. Hi, Time for an update on the exhaust. It doesn't fit ! Soo I donned my thinking cap, read all articles about the Su-7 here on ARC and elsewhere to find a solution for this. After that I took out some knives and files and started to get rid of the inner one of the two ridges. Test fit. OK, on the topside, but not on the bottom. Soo, I did some more thinking and came to the conclusion that the ring on the bottom of the exhaust tube is to large. So I trimmed it about 1mm with my trusty Stanley knife. And that did the trick. Now the exhaust is glued in place. Hopefully
  7. WOW ! That was quite a ride. Thanks for posting it Holmes. /Bosse
  8. For me it has to be the Eduard MiG-21. I havn't built it yet. But the box has been out soo many times I think it has drool marks on it by now. /Bosse
  9. Thanks Gianni. Don't worry about the nose on the Shablool. It'll be there when it's finished, which is just days away. Take Care /Bosse
  10. Thanks FO. I'm not turning the other way. I just want to even out my collection a bit. Remember there are two sides on every coin... I got some more egyptian aircraft planned for next year. /Bosse
  11. Hi FO, A norwegian F-86 This is going to be good. What colours were they? Good Luck /Bosse
  12. Hi, I've been working on the exhaust today. Add some PE Looks much better than without. I've also glued the nosebullit together. Eduards instructions says 10grams noseweight. But i filled the nose with so many small lead sinker I could get to fit. So I guess I've loaded it with around 50 gram. Better be sure, I don't want a tailsitter. The rest of the exhaust is also finished. Some PE structure in the pipe. This is going to be the exhaust petals. This wasn't half as difficult as I'd imagined it. And I'm very please with the result. To be continued... /Bosse
  13. Thanks Diego. I'll study the colour schemes provided with your decals and take it from there. Droptanks and four S-24 rockets seems like a "cool" weapons load. /Bosse
  14. Thanks All. Yes it's a brute of a kit. I'm going to let it take the time it takes. @Uncle: I'll convey your greetings to the kids. And no, we've not yet had any snow, thankfully. After the last two winter we've had, I'd quite happy if we didn't get any either. Take care /Bosse
  15. Continued. I've started on the wings as well. Quite thick plastic. I had to use the razorsaw to get them of the sprue. Since my version are going to be the BMK I also have to shave of the bulge around the wheel wells. That took around two hours with hand tools to get rid off. I've still got some sanding to do. But I'll be doing that when I've glued the wings to the fuselage. The Su-7 is larger than I thought it would be, almost the size of a Phantom II To be continued.... /Bosse
  16. Hi everyone. I've now started my first non IDF/AF aircraft for years. I'm going to build an Su-7 BMK from the Egyptian Airforce. I'll be doing one from the Yom Kippur/Ramadan War in october 1973. I'll be using an old secondhand bought Kopro kit and lots of resin and PE goddies. Neomega cockpit BIG Ed PE-set (the Pavla seat came with the kit) Decals from HI-Decal and my choice of paintscheme and some weapons from Eduards MiG-21. I've not decided what loadout I going to use yet. Tips and suggestions are welcome. I've already painted the cockpit. And I've cut away the plas
  17. Thanks Av8fan. The cutting involved on this one isn't soo scary that is seems. All cuts are along existing panellines. The decaling on the other hand is something else. I don't think I'll build another Phantom for some time. One every two years is my limit. /Bosse
  18. Thank you Finn-Ove for your kind words and congratulations on your win with your Netz. /Bosse
  19. Hi again, Remember this? Well I've been neglecting my update here on ARC. But I do still build. This is how my Shablool looks now. Eduard PE fitted around the canopies. Airbrakes and rear chaff bucket fitted. An ALQ-119 from a Hasegawa ordnance set. AirDoc Sidewinder launcher for the Sparrow well and a Paragon Python III missile. And here mounted to the aircraft. So it's almost finished. To be continued.... /Bosse
  20. I'm satisfied with it. In fact I've ordered a second set. Best Regards /Bosse
  21. Hi, I've also used the Pj Productions variant on my recce Mirages. I was interested in the AML version, but not if it's looking like that. Pictures can be found in the RECCE GB thread Link to my Recce Mirages /Bosse
