Making a master for producing resin parts.
Steve jahn replied to Steve jahn's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
Those 3d printers are the ultimate but still to much money for me. I have tried some different materials and just cant seem to get a part to come out like a cuttuing edge or anigrand part. What does Anigrand use for master material? Steve -
When you make resin parts you have to start with a master, right. Example, you want to make a master of a 1/48 F6F cowl. What material do you make the master out of to make a nice smooth original so you can copy it? Steve

According to Detail and Scale,Poor design planning placed the pylons to close together and this caused problems durring separations tests. It does increase drag because of this. steve

F15crewchief, does the AF still give these out? Steve -
There are no support parts that go behind it. The cockpit floor is in front and there is nothing behind. I have tried hot water on another project but it made a bigger mess. I guess maybe a piece of plastruct might do it. Steve

I have a question about the drones after they are shot down. Is there any effort to retrieve them from the Gulf after they are shot down? Or does the remains just stay where they crash? Steve

I have a Comet Boeing 707 Stratotanker that I thought was really the the KC-135 prototype. It was then re-issued with some changes by Aurora as the KC-135. It is not the 707 fuselage. If you get one of these kits, you should be able to make a C-135. Steve

I was going to say you are probably thinking about the Lindberg F-8 also. It has retractable gear. Steve

With all the F-16's at DM, why would they have to pick basically the first F-16 besides the first two test planes? That kind of sucks.
