  1. Thank you everyone. Except for a typical air to air combo (winders and sparrows) would vf-84s carry anything for ground assault or were they primarily tasked with escort missions? i mean did they carry any napalm bombs or mk-82s, rockeyes or were they an all fighters´ squadron (vietnam)? maybe the decals i have (yellow hammer vf-84) dont quite fit the timeframe?
  2. Hello fellow modellers, I got the Tamiya F-4J in 32nd and have some nice yellowhammer vf-84 skull and bones decals to go with it (this combo is getting a little old i know). there is a aftermarket company that makes resin suu-23a, 23 and suu-16. somehow i am keen to get these but i am not sure if these were really carried. would usn f-4js carry those on carrier cruises till mid 70ies? thanks for any advice best regards till
  3. Apart from the Airfix set which I ve seen in many model shops (with old stock), yoyu could try buying Hasegawa Gr1 kit (gulf war?). The JP 233 have been specially designed for Tonkas so it would be hard to find another aircraft kit (not being a Tornado) that has these. best regards till
  4. I got the photograhed testshot myself now. seems like the Lerx is inaccurate. Do you want a side by side review with the Hasegawa model?
  5. Theres one from Matchbox and a new one from Special Hobby/ Hannants but dont bother. Depending on the Version you want to build, I´d go for the ESCI now Italeri kit. The cockpit however is very sparsely detailed. Maybe you have a leftover Martin Baker seat from a Tornado. You can also obtain dropped air inlet flap intakes from pavla. havent tried those yet but ican recommend the base italeri kit. best regards till
  6. I have created cast resin copies of the hi speed centerline tank of the phantom. they need abit of sanding but the shape is ok id say. if anyone is interested its 8 euro per piece. ill up some picutres later
  7. Hi there, anyone of you know if seamless suckers is still around? I wrote them a letter indicating i would like to purchase a few items if he´d get back to me with an invoice. nothing happened so far, so i am wondering if he is still in business. i know spruebrothers are around but they do not have the items i want from seamless suckers. best regards till
  8. Have both sets. While the cockpit set is OK, the wingfold is a must get. Simply gorgeous. However I would love to see Dr. Pepper or Wolfpack or Zacto to do a update for the Fujimi kit for a proper Hawkeye 2000. I heard that Fujimi released the kit but it is far from accurate and misses a lot of the typical 2000 characteristics (like the big cone on top of the dish) best regards Till http://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=3230 PS: look at this preview, it states that the manufacturer just incldued new propellers but did not fix anything that has to do with fuselage or wings. typi
  9. PM me, I have one from the old Revell F-15C kit I dont intend to use.
  10. Without having one or the other but seeing many reviews the late Hasegawa mold is way more accurate. However Academy is quite a bargain as well if you can get it for below 10$. The outlines of both kits are quite OK. Talking about panel line accuracy Hasegawa wins in this aspect. I was thinking of building a F-15 as Nellis Aggressor with brown camo, very attractive.
  11. what happened to your b-one bro?
  12. Wow thanks for the intel. What do you mean with decent prices? I thought Japanese brands like Hasgawa and Tamiya would be a bit cheaper, while Revell and Italeri would be more exepnsive? Are there any other places worth checking? Best regards Till
  13. Wow, I am impressed. I am really waiting for the Minicraft thai 777 that was announced for this year, coming next year? Too bad Liveries umlimited went bust. Actually my mom is Thai, and Ill be going to Bangkok this Winter holiday (if all goes well). Do you happen to know any good modelling shops down there or Plasticliners adress? Best wishes Till
  14. Hi Larry Lurex :-) looks like we got the same taste. The only 144 scale models I do (apart from 72 and 32 military aicraft) are Thai jets. Dont want to show off but I have Brazil decals for A-300B4 and A330, Royal barge 747 (which is awful) and Plasticliner decals for 737-400, 747-400 regular Thai airways and BAe 146. One DC-8 63 from Twosix and one 747-200 from Revell with Thai Decals. Currently I am finishing a DC-10-30 with the Superscale addon. I suspect that you got your 737 sheet from Luchtvaart Hobbyshop as well? Best regards Till
