  1. Very, very nice!!!! That landing gear looks like a challenge to assemble, was it?
  2. You know, I'm really not interested in anything not US military related, but I will make an exception on the CH-147F. That bird is spectacular looking!!!!!! Does the camo scheme wrap around? My airbrush would get a good experience with that!!!

  10. The Luftwaffe also had a habit of following bombers back to their bases and shooting them up as the bombers came in on their final approaches. This was often done very late in the day when daylight was fading. If I recall, the B-24s of the Second Air Division was often hit as they returned to their bases and as 11BEE stated, the Russian airfield raid was the costliest loss of US bombers on the ground in combat. Really good question asked by the way!
  11. If someone does indeed care to honor him with a model of his SPIT, drop me a PM, I have an idea. I'd build one myself, but I have plenty of others waiting for their models.
  12. Thanks, guys! The beast is over 4 1/2 feet long and the wife rigged up a spray booth in the laundry room. It was a 16 hour long session to get the 3 shades of grey on. One day when I have 200.00 I can spend on myself, I'm getting one!!!
  13. How freakin' cooollll!!!!! Now, who's gonna build him a model of his Spit?
  14. You have no clue how organized he is! Even my wife was amazed at his "scrapbook" he put together of his war years. Names, places and dates and a story behind every single photo. The man is a living, breathing History Channel 4 hour special presentation! The photo was actually taken at his daughters house whose husband is a pilot. I got an hour long tutorial on a pilot finds his way from point A to point B using IFR, I was lost right after he said: :Here's how we do it."
  15. The male mosquito buzzes but not bite while a female mosquito does not buzz and does bite. Pretty similar to humans, hu?

  17. Wow, a young-un! Welcome and any and all questions can and will be answered! So you're completing a model your Dad started when he was in flight school? What did your Dad fly? Also, what's your preference to aircraft you like to build? I may have one two for you in the stash.
  18. He went on 5 of the Hammerhead's 7 patrols. The model is in the Display Case forum.
  19. The best F-15 of any type I've seen!!! Being that's my daughters squadron makes it even better!
