  1. Could I join in with a Hasegawa F-14A in VF-111 markings please? And I may include a 1/144 F-14D in VF-101 markings too.
  2. I built an overall Black so mine was different But I do an NMF one next, if "Bit O' Lace" didn't have staggered waist positions. :)
  3. 31st Decemeber? That's another 6 months or so. Which means I could get another Fort ordered and built
  4. Thank you Charlie for hosting this great GB. Well there be "On Canadian Wings" GB 2 in the future?
  5. I could be up for this with either a VF-111 F-14A or a VF-101 F-14D
  6. Thanx Mark. And I've noticed I've missed the over wing staining from the vents. I'll need to add that.
  7. Not my photos just posting for those interested with Tanker support. here
  8. Thanx for the kind comments guys. I had a blast in the GB. And will I build more B-17's? You betcha.
  9. Here's my B-17 for this great GB. Build thread here
  10. Resurrecting this thread. I have the colours, but does anyone do decals for this cat in 1/72 at all?
  11. Thanx Mark. And thank you for the suggestion always appreciated. And I've got the daylight pics here. But, as there is no gallery thread yet I have no where to post 'em.
  12. Right she's finished. Just some teaser shots at the moment as it's just gone midnight here, and I will take better pics in natural daylight when it's lighter. I weathered the underside, and the grey is a little darker to what you see in the pics. And I didn't weather the upper side behind the vents as wasn't sure if that's the case or not.
  13. Thanx guys. And I'm at the weathering stage. Now I've seen pics of forts with staining from the upper vents is this right? As I would like to weather this fort authentically.
  14. Ok thanx guys. So who stuffed up? Me? Or Revell?
  15. I'm looking at building Rommel's personal He-111 VG+ES from the Kurierstaffel in North Africa in 1942. My question is was it a bomber/transport? Or was it converted to a pure transport role, and the bomb racks removed, and the area taken up with tables and chairs?
  16. The clear pieces weren't in place at the time (which makes it easier for painting, and decalling). So last night's and today's progress on the fort. Lifelike tell you to put the star and bar behind the waist gun position, but either the waist gun position is too far back or the insignia is too big. So I beg the question did this particular fort have staggered waist positions? As I thought all G's had the staggered waist positions? So I placed it forward of the waist gun. And looking at a profile of "Tondalayo" in Osprey's B-17 units of the 8th Air Force the squadron letter's "JJ" are in t
  17. Looking good there Mark. Can't wait to see more.
  18. Thanx guys. And now an update. And I've applied the colour and it's brush painted Tamiya X-1 Gloss Black: I've left the flying controls unpainted as these will be painted Matt Black.
  19. Thanx guys. Now I know this fort was overall Gloss Black, but would she have had an anti-glare panel up front?
  20. Ok so now it's looking like a fort. And I've dropped the elevators, and displaced the rudder to add a bit of interest. I was going to add a chart to the nav's table, but the printer's playing up at the moment, as the paper keeps pulling to the right. But anyways pics of the fort: I'm leaving wings off until I've painted the fuselage, as it's easier to handle with the wings off.
  21. I've installed the engines, and I'm thinking of leaving one of the engines un-cowled, but not sure.
  22. Anyway some of the progress so far today. I've assembled the wings, put the u/c in, and worked on the engines.
  23. Thanx Mark. I'm pleased with it so far! So closed cowl flaps it is.
  24. Right guys I'm about to start the engines on the fort. And Revell give you to options of having the cowl flaps open or closed. And my question is would the cowl flaps be open when at rest? Or closed?
