  1. Can't wait to get my hands on one: http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/ColonialRaptorPage.htm :)
  2. Read about Boeing GA-2. http://www.hitechweb2.szm.sk/Xtras/BoeingGA2.jpg
  3. 1/72 Revell BF 109 G-10. It's the one I ruined the paint job on the left wing. Did some touch up, and now it just looks a little messy.
  4. Started doing the same thing in 1/72 scale free hand. Tyhe secret is to use about 60% thinner with Tamiya acrylics and about 5-10 psi. I still get a bit of splash, but I figure it comes with the learning process. And unless you are looking really closely, it looks great.

    Mottling

I have, but I found the effect unsatisfying.

    Mottling

Normally MM doesn't need to be thinned, but when you are doing work this precise you need to thin it big time. That way I can keep the spray extremely fine. If you don't, then it tends to gum up in the nozzel. I just used Tamiya thinner BTW.
  7. Bumping this. I can't find any info on this subject, and I'd like to know as well. What is the best glue to use, and how to do it with minimal mess. I work mostly in 1/72 so glue is about the only option available to me. Problem is, that it creates a mess. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Mottling

I know there have been threads before, but I just wanted to give a tip based on my own personal discovery. I'm using a Badger 350 with Tamiya and model master acrylic paints. yesterday I did some mottling on a 1/72 BF 109 G-10 and it turned out pretty good. I really thinned the paint out, about 60% thinner, then I set my compressor to about 12 psi. By keeping the spray focussed it turned out pretty good, even doing it freehand. I'll post pics in the next couple of days when I finnish the kit.
  9. Awsome. Thanks for all of the help.
  10. Sorry to bother folks with such a mundane question, but I want to be absolutely sure I'm doing this right. When thinning Tamiya acrylics for airbrushing I've been told 50%. Now, does that mean 50% pain 50% thinner, or is it thinner should be 50% of paint i.e. one third. As well, how long is the paint good for once I thin it? Thanks,
  11. I just bought a 1/72 JU-88 and it's covered in rivets. Does anyone know if this is correct, or is it way overdone on this kit? Any help appreciated.
