  1. One more paint note, the cockpit is all black (FS37038) and there is a thicker brace that attaches the WSO hand hold. That brace holds a device for the JMHCS, real one about 3" diameter by 5" long. The rest of the cockpit from a modelers perspective is the same. There are also some missile threat sensors around the aircraft, a cheek pod between pilot & WSO as well as a different pylon between tail planes and engines. I assume Korea has the same upgrades. http://www.aviationnews.eu/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/F-15SA-12-1002.jpg
  2. Actually, it is the auto pilot.....
  3. Tugging at my heartstrings on that awesome build! Now if I can get the updated decals made (waiting on a decal MFG to do them, have some photos) then you will have to do a second one. The changes are not much but the color markings are a thing of the past(except a few)and the tail number is raised up off the tail base. Great work!
  4. Definitely not a lightening hole......about punctured a wing on a King Air when an oleo strut stuck then gave way just as the jack was being moved out. It went right between the flap and wing, less than an inch from causing damage......talk about pucker factor.
  5. Insignia red it it is, Thanks! BTW, great picture, thought the actuator was white, guess not. Also, the speed brake bay looks like it uses the same color as the belly of the AC, assuming this is true for a Vietnam era F-4C?
  6. Not sure the right color red, assuming he USAF painted the inside of the speed brakes and aux air intake doors red......
  7. Can't wait for the "G" model cockpit with the CAAS system. 5 displays and slight center panel differences and it is good to go!
  8. I am in need of a seated 72 scale pilot with JHMCS helmet and I noticed the new Academy release which has the correct figure. Anyone out there not planning of putting their pilot in the Academy kit and willing to pass it on? Thanks in advance!
  9. Went ahead and mixed a custom color, started with mostly Testors ZC (Square bottle) and darkened it with dark blue. Having worked with real AC parts, the color variations in ZC go from a almost true yellow to green with little hint of yellow. Found this link. Still a little on the green side but not changing now.
  10. Yellow/green zinc chromate or RAF interior green or something else in the wheel bays? Thinking of making the yellow/green ZC a little more green..... Any suggestions?
  11. I personally upgraded a MH-47G flight simulator for the 160th last year. The simulator is based in Wolcott Hall and you cannot ask for a better group to work with. I have seen the movie a few times but when I returned from the trip, I finally read the book and was blown away. All I can say is I am amazed we did not lose more than we did in MOG. NSDQ
  12. As promised, a link to my photo bucket account with more pictures of my build.
  13. I did the conversion (Matchbox/Tamiya) in 2007 and is featured in the Spring 2008 issue of IPMS journal (69 Camaro on cover). The build is also featured in the ARC Galleries. I also have my photos in photo bucket but cannot access those links from my work computer..... Trade $$$ for hours of work, it can be done but what a PITA! With the Skyraider craze right now, I bet in a few years someone will pop out a new mold wide body Skyraider soon.....typically the rule is, if you labor through a tough conversion, someone will release a kit right after you finish it......
  14. F-16.net is your buddy. I did a search on 89-1460 and turned up this (Block 30 Viper with small "NSI" intake and GE engine). The rest of the fleet are standard block 30 with Big Mouth intakes and GE engines. The tail shows 85-460 and you have to add a 0 1 or 2 between the dash and 4 to get the correct tail number. Jake Melampy also has a great F-16 book that explains it all.
  15. Get these items before they are gone!
  16. Since WP does a lot of resin goodies, what will they have in store for this one? #1 concern is the level of detail in the cockpit. Oh yea, bring on the "C" version. I can easily see a resin update set to handle that conversion as well, update engines, intake & cockpit and you have it.....
  17. You going to move into that thing when finished?
  18. Privatize the TSA by using an escort service? One thing missing, honey roasted peanuts.....not sure if SWA went back to those or not. Plus, who thought Biscotti should be the preferred snack?
  19. I was going to have you correct the title then I read your story..."ride ON" is correct! And they gave you a free bucket of prop wash :woot.gif:/>
  20. This must be fake.....Heller 1/72 707? I the 72 scale guys are fanatical but this is crazy!
  21. Definitely 12 feathers on GE engine. Not sure who makes the GE nozzle for Italeri? Shull24 had a great set but it is for Tamiya. Just have to find someone out there that can tell you of one of the AM nozzles fit on Italeri.....
