  1. I am hoping the 1/48 revell decals would work as well....---just need hs-10 markings.
  2. building this for a co-worker... But oop! http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=RP5051
  3. That is why we do not use it to clean our fleet of aircraft in the Civil Air patrol. I asked one day and was quickly informed that it is not to be around the A/C. IO noticed my a few parts on my airbrush (Iwata) have a "burnt metal" appearance...that could explain it. I clean it in an ultrasonic cleaner in SG.
  4. I have a 2 gallon container with a bunch of Simpler green in it which I throw my empty pain bottles in. They just soak in there for months or years if need be and when I need a clean bottle, I just pull one out & rinse it off. For lids, I go to my local beer brewing place and buy replacement caps.
  5. I think they mean the instructions for the resin wheels & markings. I will email them and see if I can get what I need.
  6. I donated a ride in the PT-19 for my Col friend who flew gliders in WWII.
  7. I downloaded 4 files. Three are all about paint schemes and the fourth is for weighted wheels installation. I have not seen what the supplement is but I was looking for the instructions that call out the parts on the extra sprue (antennas primarily) I am sure I can use photo reference but I would still like to see the ZM instruction sheet if it is out there... I will dig deeper on their site.
  8. Was the pilot was flying the C-17 before he transferred to the F-22?.....
  9. I got my sprue in from ZM but they did not send me the 8 page supplement. Is anyone willing to scan the 8 sheet add on & email that to me? Much appreciated! email: drhornii@hotmail.com
  10. Not for this build, I need to finish the AN-124 I put aside to build these. This month I will not be doing much building. Holidays, travel for work, Civil air patrol training....lots of stuff to do. Here are all three inspired builds. Two of the three aircraft (Millie G was not there) were at the fly in Saturday and the plane owners got to see their birds!
  11. And the second model.....barely made the deadline of Nov 10th. It is the 1/48 scale Tamiya kit. I updated it to match the modern day Millie G by adding a back seat and extra antennas like the GPS antenna behind the back seat. Both builds
  12. Finally finished it, just in time for the show in Tulsa that it was built for. The kit is made by planet models and is resin and vacuuform. I had to scratch the antennas, some cockpit stuff and the venturi on the RH side of the cockpit.
  13. I agree the kit is excellent but I wish that the canopy det cord was a vinyl decal, will be a pain to paint without screwing up. For those wanting to build in flight, the gear door sections are molded together, will be a beautiful kit to build! Overall 99% rating on this one.
  14. Got the decals on. Quite a bit of gap filling on the wing join but other than that, not a bad kit. One decal is not on yet, the CAF wings...I am needing a digital copy and I emailed the CAF for it. If I cannot get that, I will crop the image I took of the real bird, just trying to save all the work of cleaning up my photos. Other than the insignias, all the decals are home made.
  15. Got the decals on/ Had to make a custom "Millie G" nose art since the Baracuda decals were for WWII vintage and I am doing modern day Millie.
  16. Cool! I thought I was losing my mind knowing it was out there but could not find it.
  17. I have instructions for P22 which should be the same. I think there is a site online that has scans as well but I cannot remember where it is. If you cannot find the site, let me know and I can scan it soon, just need an email to send to. Keep reminding me if I do not send them.
  18. Anyone have an idea on what the A-1J specific sprue number/letter may be so I can order it?
  19. A couple of nights ago, I sprayed Alclad II "polihed Aluminum" then a few minutes after spraying that, I rubbed in S&J aluminum powder. Looking good but not quite as "shiny" as I would like but not bad. Glad it is just the engine cowling that is highly polished. Last night I sprayed the olive drab green and in the next few days, the final color, the red demarcation line between the green & polished aluminum. I can't use the decal demarcation line since it did not line up good enough compared to the current day Millie G.
  20. I want to convert my Navy A-1H to the USAF version and would like to order the extra sprue to do so. The extra sprue has a different tail wheel, wing tips and some antennas. The Navy kit already has the ejection seat (I know, Yankee extraction system). Anyone know if ZM will sell extra sprues? I did not find a customer service contact on their web site.
  21. I bet just a decal change. There are enough plastic options to make block 40/42 & 50/52. Oh yea, or maybe a "certificate" in there.......
