  1. Not sureabout the original Millie G. This accident was not really a belly landing though, here is the NTSB report.
  2. I decided to paint the checkered colors on...still have some cleanup to do. First the read deal
  3. Fuselage halves together Added a base coat color in hard to spray areas around the radiator scoop.
  4. Getting ready to put the fuselage halves together.
  5. The current "Millie G" has her gun ports covered. A few updates, I wanted to position the oil cooler door in the closed position. I wa a little heavy with the knofe so I had to replace material. Filled the canopy track hole with a strip of plastic slightly recessed. Removed the radio & fuel tank. Preparing for back seat.
  6. The cockpit does not have bulkheads behind each seat, a much needed item. Also hids the aft fuselage "hole"
  7. From what I can tell, only the lower engine area and fuselage under the green is highly polished. The wing appears to be painted silver. The Mustang I finished earlier this year is painted silver and it looks the same.
  8. Yep, I do not look forward to it. I have had some NMF practice lately but to this extent!
  9. This one is based at Tulsa international and just a few years back, it was involved in an accident that nearly took the pilots life and totally destroyed the aircraft. I need to get this done for a fly in on Nov 10th that the Mustang should be at.
  10. This aircraft was just restored and just celebrated it's 70th birthday. They have been offering rides and a friend is a member that is almost finished getting his sign off to fly people on rides. I nee to have this kit done by Nov 10th so i can show it at a fly in where this aircraft will be at. Planet models resin kit Whats in the box (decals and vac parts not shown)
  11. Family.....the T-45 cousin in the family to be released?
  12. The xtracrylics dry very quickly. The Xtracolor colors dry a little longer(about the time it takes a sloth to walk around the globe). After three days, that stuff still seems tacky which is why I like the acrylics version. There are times I do need to add a gloss coat (Future normally) just to get a smooth surface hence the whole reason this is done to prevent silvering.
  13. depending on how minute differeces you are interested in, the burner ring is different so the pe is off. Minor detail....
  14. she will be in Tulsa Oklahoma later this month, I think on the 22nd of Sept but I do not have my notes with me that has the date.
  15. I personally like to use a top color that is gloss (Xtracrylix and Xtracolor for example) which saves me from using future.

  18. Too late for me, I finished this kit last Spring. I thought I wold share as a primer for this build.... Miracle Maker is based in Tulsa where I live and I had an opportunity to take a ride in Miracle Maker back in 2005. Picture of me in the back seat heading out to the runway....The plane still has the "0" on the tail (was 50). The numbers have been removed since my ride. Tamiya 1/48 scale Mustang. Cockpit highly modified resin set with scratch built extras including the custom seats. Thanks to Draw Decals for the markings.
