  1. They can be a little fiddely to get to sit just right. And the plastic is very thin so it's a real PITA to get the two halfs to line up proparly. Also you have to expect a nasty seem on the front upperpart of the intake.
  2. Grate Wall Hobbies has done a pritty good job on this Mig. It builds relativly easy, has no major fit issues and looks stunning when done. I found two minor issues with the fit and that was easly resolved. The speedbrake and naturally the airintakes took alittle effort to get to look good , but no big hazzle. There is only one complaint as far as I can tell.. that's the instructions. They are kinda hard to read right and also the numbercallouts are way off. So make sure you dubblecheck. Time used on this build 8 days, avrage 2.5 hours of work pr session. Paints used: Gunze,Tamiya ,
  3. Thanks man :) yea that's right. I found it after following a discussion here and orderd me a cupple. Sinse Norway also used the RF-5A I wanted some in my collection.
  4. So I got another one finished. *Kinetic's F-5a 1/48th *RF-convertion from "the major- Fine resin accesories" *Decals from Vingtor /www.vingtor.net The RNoAf had a number of RF-5A's used in the Recce mission from the late 60's to the mid 80's. This build represents a late 60's jet from No 717th sqd based at Rygge AB, 70km south of Oslo. the build is very strait forward and the resin nosepart is very easy to install, just replace the nose in the kit with this one, addapt the pitot tube and away you go. For the paint I decided to go with an experiment "tresure silver" is a paste that r
  5. Didt find any more resin RF -noses on ebay, are they OOP ?
  6. Just a quick update with some more pics. Also I've orderd me another one. At 34bucks a pop + shipping this is really a grate buy.
  7. I used Vagabond decals for Hasegawa, but they fit nicely and was a helluva lot easyer to work with than many others I tried over the years :)
  8. Thanks for your kind words guys :) I'l be posting some more pics shortly
  9. So all done. Academy F-4B Phantom , VF-84 1965. I enjoyed the build, the kit builds well, albeit some minor irritating detals. I switched the ejackulation seats with a cupple of Mk5's from Squadron. The decals are also aftermarket. But the rest is OOB. my biggest complaint about this kit is the decals, espessialy for the weapons. Other than that it's a very nice modell that builds well and with a little work can look pritty darn good.
  10. Trumpys new Mig-21 F-13 kit in 48th built OOB. Not a bad build actually, some fiddely parts, one of wich to get the front weelwell to sit strait, but apart from that. The fit is generally very good and detail level is very acceptable. I've been watching the forums here and know it aint accurate, and that I should have omited the missiles, but it looked naked without them and I had already installed the pylons when I found out about that. I built this one east german, it was the one decal option in the box that was't BMF, and I've done quite a few BMF's lately so I wanted to do something
  11. Yea sure :) I can skip the missile, but I don't have any replacements for the bort number and I really dont wanna wait 3 weeks for new decals to arrive. So I'l go with the decals but I don't have any problems skip'n the missile
  12. I'm working on this kit and I think it's quite stunning for a trumpy, the fit is exelent, it has very good details albeit not as chrisp as I'd expect from Tamiya, but again very nice details. I'l be doing an east german one and WIP thread wil be posted shortly.
  13. I need two a-style paratails for F-16's, I have two RNoAF builds planned and need one for each. I've sent three mails to PWMP without a reply. Anyone have any bright ideas ? Thanks :)
  14. Pappy, yea I made the alterations before i put the canopy on there. I saw some pics of a Navy bird and noticed the difference from an AF bird. :) I've been working on the paint for a cupple of days now and think I'm gettin there, I'm gonna redo the aft engine/exaust area as I was not happy with that. Status pr 30th dec. Don't think I'm gonna get this done before the new year. But it'l be my first for 2013.
  15. amazing build :D I really like the way the brakeshute housing is built
  16. Back in business after a few days at the inlaws, Been working steady on this today and the jet is now in the spraybay. even for a fearly simple sceem it's a lot of masking. But I think it'l work out in the end :) I have also corrected the cocpit , but it's under half a mile of masking tape so I aint gonna photo that untill I rip the tape off.
  17. Same here.. even though we have a different name for it in Norwegian, I just cant help myself finding the whole ejaculation seat "blunder" funny as h*ll.. it gives me a number of very intresting "images" :P
  18. Hey, thanks dude. I'l repaint it. I didt think it was a CRT screen, but assumed it was some kinda radar screens, although 3 of them in a '65 vintage jet sounded abit wierd
  19. Nice catch dudes, funny what a selvcorrecting pad can do :P
  20. Yep it sure is :) I'l be building BUno. 151516 According to the decal sceet it's the CAG bird from VF-84 Vietnam 10may-13 december 1965. Decal sceet is "Dem bones part one" from Vagabond 48-001
  21. And so it begins.. Like so many I've been waiting for this kit for quite some time and when it finally got here I could't wait to start it. I'l try to post pictures and descriptions as I go along. I'm no F-4 expert so I'l have to follow the instructions, but any help you guys like to offer to get it more accurate I appriciate. I have yet to decide if I'm gonna go with the kit decals for VF-111 or use the VF-84 decals I have in my stash. I'l be building this more or less out of the box, I have orderd some new boomseats as I didt like the ones in the box. other than that and possibly
  22. part two.. it's kinda scary that I've done so many I've had to split the posting.. MustHave/Revell F-86 K Sabre 1/48th AFV Club F-16 AM 1/32nd Kittyhawk 1/48th F-35B Lightning II Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire MK9 Hasegawa F-104 G Starfighter 1/48th
  23. so here we go, the lineup from 2012 AMT Biker Scout from ROTJ Italeri/Academy '48th Swiss AF Hawker Hunter: Hasegawa F-4E Phantom II 1/48th Hobbyboss 1/32 F-84G Thunderjet Kinetic 1/48 F-5 Freedomfighter. Part 1 Kinetic 1/48 Freedomfighter , Part 2
  24. So I'm done with another one. This time it's an F-104 G '48th scale and Hasegawa kit, not really a shocker that one. Decals from Vingtor (vingtor.net), paints from Tamiya,Alclad II, Citadel, Gunze and Vallejo I beleve.. hope I did't leave anyone out.. oh, yea and some lead graphite from a pencil ( and yea.. there is still plenty of lead in my pencil.. ) Anyhow the build is your strait forward run of the mill Hasegawa build. No big suprises. Alotta masking tape was needed ofcorse and the masking took a cupple of nights to get done, but when it all came together I was happy with the end resu
  25. Thanks man :) I was kinda wondering if it was that bad , noone would even bother to repyly ;)
