  1. I guess I’m a kid or rainy day modeler then as I did a count the other day and 85% of my builds are Tamiya.
  2. There is no explanation why Tamiya hasn’t released a two seat F-16. Maybe they waited so long they feel the tooling is too old to update to their current standards? Even though we know it is the best F-16 available?
  3. Probably won’t be molded shut on the production kits.
  4. Thought you’d be almost as excited as me. This release is Phabulous!
  5. Spanky used to text us images with a smoke in his mouth and his mask pulled back. Although I think he was less of a chain smoke than Fes Express.
  6. 712 is my favorite, I submitted the request and proposal to the SAMEO to get it painted. I just found the memo in my model room, I saved it.
  7. Very nice! Love the details and the clear canopy. I tried to fine what cutter you are using for the serials and roundel. Is it in the thread?
  8. This is funny, I saw the color you used and I thought you meant it for the bottom or 762 was unique. I searched everywhere to see if you got it right, all I could find was the light gray. I didn’t find any variations. I get to work today and my screen saver is 794 banking. The upper wing number on this one matches the nose color, the dark gray. I found one that differed that I look at everyday!
  9. Yes we are proud parents. Our son is in air cadets and last year was selected as top fourth year cadet. Yesterday he completed his Transport Canada medical for glider pilot training this summer (if the camps go forward). Georgia must be great, awesome you got four years out of it. As mentioned, I did a lot of training out of Atlanta. It was awesome to visit. You had me stumped on the upper wing number, I was searching everywhere to see if the number was done once in a different color and font. Sort of like 712s mixed up control surface. Hard to believe you made a Horne
  10. All is well with the family.Youngest just turned 16. Two oldest have graduated university, one is a school teacher and the second in healthcare. Are you still in Georgia? I hope all is well with you!
  11. What the story on 762 with the dark colored number on the top of the wing? Was this a one of?
  12. Nice work on the 2000 jet, I always really liked that jet despite it not being one of our jets (416). Still one of the most amazing jets and intricate paint schemes Jim painted. Most don’t know the secrets, like your children’s names in the tail. The colors he used in that were so diverse in numbers. Need more pictures of it! Nice work on the next one too, take care Bear!
  13. The B/D Legacy Hornet kits and F Super Hornet kits do not share the same parts, they are two different aircraft. Super Hornet is much bigger.
  14. Google Marine F-16. Quite a few Aggressor F-16s carried Marines on the spine. And there were Marine pilots in the squadron.
  15. My condolences, I’ve gone through this too. It is never easy.
  16. I knew you would add your wealth of experience. What I’d do is find an image of the Tutor in the era I am building and build to that particular airframe/image/serial. It is very easy to tell natural metal from painted.
  17. Awesome builds! And my soft spot is 712, I initiated the paint job on the jet when I submitted the project request to my squadron’s Aerospace Engineering Officer.
  18. Received my Sprue Brothers Daily Deal ($64.99) kit today, what a kit! And none of my missiles are bent!
  19. Later in service they were painted silver, a good rule of thumb if they had the newer FIP markings they were painted in the silver lacquer.
  20. Wing & Wheels have a mail order service, I’ve ordered from them many times.
  21. I have a 1/48 Hasegawa F-4F under construction, 2 more Hasegawa Phantoms, four ZM, two Tamiya F-4s. I’m worried about even finishing one kit. Every Phantom production of Shawn’s is a product of his enthusiasm for the Phabulous Phantom! Well done Shawn!
