  1. I thought it was real until I noticed the base.
  2. Nice work, which "mule," or as they say down south, which "tug" did you use? Is it the Tamiya with modifications?
  3. Becoming a female fighter pilot in Russia must have been really tough. I know in 91 we had the Ukranian Mig-29s arrive at our base for their North American tour. They had a raffle to take up a reporter and a female reporter won. The Ukrainians refused to allow a female into their aircraft and forced the event organizers to draw another name. It was shocking to see, but it was also shocking for them to be in our society. I took a few of them to grocery stores (Superstore) and they were amazed. In fact, most of them had seen food they had never seen in their life. Most had never had a strawberr
  4. Thanks Dave, That is what I thought, but my decal sheet says the Block 32 has the GE engine and big mouth intake. Thus I was confused. I may need to buy a Thunderbirds kit.
  5. It depends where you work and if the parts are "scrapped" or returned to supply. :o Each part has a different accountability code.
  6. Another thing about the Starfighter that most overlook. I forget how many we had (200 0r 300), what many forget is we had it in service for 20 years, but ten years after we took delivery of the first 104, we were still taking delivery of them from the factory, and thus when they retired most of the jets still in use were only ten years old. By the time the Hornet retires, it will be 33 years old. If it makes it that far.
  7. It was the number 5 pre-production aircraft. It was used in spin-testing. Therefore that jet has some history. It carried the same markings as the 1/32 Hasegawa Hornet boxing.
  8. Yeah, those jets were out of "FLEAH" life. That is a combo of airframe hours and g's on the airframe. Ottawa was sent 901. Don't forget it took six years to deliver all the jets. Therefore depending upon use (abuse) and service, each airframe will eventually expire. I think the intended service life of the F-18 was 1,500 or 2,500 hours. We currenty have 4,000 plus hours on our airframes. Boeing has extended the life. No, the US sold us all "0" hour airframes.
  9. If not what do I need to do? I understand the Block 32 has the same engine with the big-mouth intake. What would I need to do to model a Block 32?
  10. Weird codes, they have to be marked as ABDR birds. The markings are in red.
  11. I think it could be Pensacola. Hellcat Drones were stationed there. They were also in San Diego. I've found the same images on two other sites but they do not mention the location. And they are orange.

    New 1/32 P-47

Its true. I have a source. As I stated in the past, he told me of the Swordfish, F-117, and P-47. He also told me of the 1/32 F-16. I posted the info on the F-16 here 8 months prior to its release.
  13. It looks like a Mk IX to me, the shape looks good.
  14. I think they were early drones. I am 99% certain "In Action" has these same photos in black and white. The text explains their use.
  15. No we haven't, the government just said we did. :o
  16. I'm a CF Hornet guy, that is a load of duff, what site did you read this at? All our Hornets were brand new. Dave mentions a different Avionic package, generally the package we purchased was the same as on other Hornets. It was unique for Canada, but I wouldn't say it wasn't up to "spec." It met our needs. As Dylan pointed out, we purchased a few airframes for training. One was one of the five original prototypes and it is located in Camp Borden. This jet is near complete and was painted in CF colors (from the white, blue and yellow it arrived in). It is a training aid for new technicians in

  18. Thanks for the review, Brett gives a somewhat similar review as yours (he also has a different theory in regards to the rear canopy). http://kits.kitreview.com/airfix05113reviewbg_1.htm
