  1. Thats the good thing about it, someone had the sense to say no. It means the system works.
  2. Rusty and Murph, I was only repeating what CNN reported. They had reported it was odd an F-15E pilot was named to the T-birds. They ran a full segment on this matter. As per the norm, it looks as though it was reporting at its best.
  3. I love seeing these kits built! Very nice!
  4. I heard it was unusual the USAF added someone from outside the F-16 community. The suggestion has been made this was a "political appointment." Apparently there were female F-16 pilots available with similar qualifications.
  5. That I can understand you being frustrated over. Sorry if I worded my first reply in a manner that was misunderstood. I'm only curious to see the kit and was dissapointed at the denial. Not your valid reasons for removing the images.
  6. The same goes for the airbase in Goose Bay. The natives have complained for years about low-flying aircraft. Now those complaints have resulted in the pull-out of both the Luftwaffe and RAF Tornado training. The RAF is re-locating to Cold Lake. As we speak they are building new hangers. The Luftwaffe I do not know. But Goose Bay is certainly going to feel the economic loss of the loss of air activity in the region.
  7. Awesome kit, just too big for me to display. But I am sure I will buy another one someday.
  8. EDIT - I must add, I don't understand the issue here. If someone posted a link to the article, that occurs all the time. If they used your photo's stating they were theirs, I would understand being upset. We are all modelers who use the net to share information amongst us. Why deny the rest of us the information? I'd sure like to see it.
  9. It already is used for that. When our Hercs are forced to divert from Thule we land a Keflavik.
  10. The first thing I did when I saw the original thread on this topic was I sent the info to our Flight Safety cell. It was discussed at length and all agreed this would not be permitted under our standards (CAF) of Flight Safety. It is a crazy idea. You've already heard Waco's assessment of it. He is certainly a professional, I would think the USAF puts the best that they have in the seat of a Raptor. Personally I hope a stop is put to it in the interest of Safety.
  11. Wow, although I was involved with the CE set, that one looks awesome. Kind of wierd they painted the area around the hell-hole grey. It should be black.
  12. As has been hinted in the replies: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/index.php?...c=81560&hl=cave http://www.arcforums.com/forums/index.php?...c=81802&hl=cave I'm going for some popcorn to watch this one (the thread).
  13. It has been mentioned today here: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82806
  14. Actually none of the Blacksheep were assigned aircraft. They were all in a pool and they flew what was available. I have a full listing of the aircraft that Pappy flew on his second tour. Pappy flew 883 four or five times.
  15. Correct, Boyington was between tours and on R&R when the photo shoot was done. It wasn't even a VMF-214 aircraft. But it did exist. And as you mention, it was likely Lucybelle and not Lulubelle. But the work is outstanding and is inspirational!
  16. You have to wonder if that was really a Raider shot. I don't think any of them had the Star and Bar. I'd bet the photo was of a later war B-25 crash. Just a hunch.
  17. Hey Ken, They are both Super Hornets. E's and F's but I know what you meant. I was surprised too. I didn't even think the training Squadron had a mix of Super Hornets. Scoob
  18. Try this site: http://www.track48.com/index.html Or at least keep an eye on it. It has lots of good 1/48 stuff.
  19. That is why Cruise was used in the movie. He was shorter than the 2ft tall models they used.
  20. Look at the plane spotters in photo 4134. Pretty crude stand they are on - but it is effective. At least I hope it is plane spotters, I hope the JDF doesn't use the old WWII style tower.
  21. Great museums, I have been to both. As István said, you nead at least a week for the "Das Deutsche Museum." As well, don't forget to check out the Hofbräuhaus!
  22. As you mentioned, FlightDecs was suppose to do them. I haven't heard if they cancelled them or if they are still a go.
  23. Very nice! I have a question about the avionics panel behind the canopy. How was it held up (on the real aircraft)?
