  1. I'm thinking it looks horrible. Pig should package up all those parts and send them to me. I will send him my unbuilt kit so he can try it again. :P
  2. Greg, I say send it back to AM. I would. Cheers, Gary
  3. Does anyone have a photo of this aircraft that includes codes and serials? My daughter would love a model of it!
  4. Don't assume that was directed at you. I did state "people." If I were directing it at you I would have said "I don't understand why you are spitting venom at AMs."
  5. I do not like the responses where people say shut-up and fix it. I think AM made a fine mold of a kit. They put allot of time and money into the Vindicator. They were let down by the mold people who were careful on the first test shots but pumped out the production run. They probably did this to cut costs and save on labor. I am confident replacement fuselages will be sent out. We did get replacements on the B-25 turrets.
  6. I can't say I agree. I for one am happy Accurate has provided up with these kits. Perhaps there replies were tardy but it is obvious they were not at fault. It was the injection mold people pumping the kits out too fast. I bet Accurate Miniatures was caught totally off guard and had to take time to regroup. They held these kits until the Nationals and were as shocked as anyone else. I have a hard time understanding the venom that is being spit their way. If I were as unhappy as you I would return the kits. I don't want to fix the problem either. And I am disappointed that it occurred to
  7. No need to apologize. I wasn't complaining.
  8. Awesome build! I'm curious, why didn't you paint the National Insignia as well? Was there a problem with the masks?
  9. I should add. This was sent to Greg Wise. Linda is an owner of AM. I knew they were working on a reply. Thank you AM for the many fine kits. I am a happy customer.
  10. Dear Greg, We are as unhappy about the sink marks as you are. These sink marks were not present in the test shots and apparently occurred due to the fact that the people who molded them removed them from the presses before the plastic had adequate time to cool. As it was an error on the part of the people who molded it we are in negotiations about the replacement fuselages at this time. The talks seem favorable at this time, but I can make no firm commitment. And, as the parts are molded overseas, the replacement time (if it does happen) could be a month or longer in coming.
  11. Verlinden makes one for that particular kit. If you ask me it is one of the best Verlinden sets in existence.
  12. Don't laugh, my unit has one hour patches for Hornets. are they generic hornet patches or are they squadron-type patches? if they are generic, hook me up! Generic. As all our units use them. They may say Canada Hornet on them. Or just Hornet.
  13. Don't laugh, my unit has one hour patches for Hornets.
  14. Very nice! The only thing you did wrong is put this in the "in progress" section rather than the "completed build" section.
  15. So that is what "God" looks like. Amazing!
  16. It is the best Dash 4 kit on the market. But it has raised panel lines. I have scribed all the panels lines on the fuselage and used the Academy wings and horizontal stabs. The Academy kit is scribed but has serious issues with the fuselage. One other option is to use the Tamiya Corsair (F4U-1D) and the CMK -4 conversion.
  17. Nice build. It should be a dandy once it is complete. My pet peeve on this kit is: I hate the trench - panel lines on that kit. They aren't even accurate. Not one panel line is where it should be. The Xs around the windows are not on the real thing. On the tail, the footstep guide lines, are represented by scribed panel lines.
  18. Vision is very limited with NVGs on. I was a NVG specialist in my previous unit. I still hold the qualifications. I think the US military has a NVG faceshield. We should be looking at that. With goggles we have to put weights on the back of helmets. With Gs those weights will increase. I am certain Murph and some of the other military aircrew will be able to comment on goggles.
  19. My view on this? Sorry Cadfael, I think NVGs in a fighter is useless. I hope you didn't work on the project. If you did I applaud you fir your efforts. When I worked on the Griffon pilots were having neck problems due to the weight of the NVG sets. That problem will increase 10 fold in Hornets. A fighter doesn't really need NVG. It can work at night and has all the sensors required for picking out targets. NVG are more useful for helo's when they are looking for bad guys. I don't even think the US military really uses NVGs on fighters. It is too dangerous as the view is very limited. Jus
  20. I love it! I see you properly deployed the steps with the canopy open. I also like the empty buckets!
  21. Hey Pig, If you decide to quit will you send me what you did build?
