  1. I remember being asked to look at some operator concerns on the OH-58D which I will not describe here. The first time I picked up the OH-58D (compared to the standard OH-58) I became very happy with the improved SCAS.
  2. Matt, thanks for all the photos and also the stories about the "unauthorized markings". I remember how surprised I was when I found the very large Canadian decal under the belly. The one unique feature that was developed on 318 was that HUB mounted camera and cabin display that allowed us to see and record the ice accretion and the deicing sequence on the very dynamic rotating blades in real time. If some of that video can ever be found, I believe that it would be very valuable. Every month I still see interest in our rotorcraft pneumatic research reports. Best
  3. Matt, sad to learn about Don. As you said a great guy. He also told me about his background so I am not surprised. cheers
  4. Hi Matt, a different topic. Do you remember our photographer who helped set up the rotor hub video on 532? Was it Stratford? Wonder where is is at now? I also just connected with Bob Williams if you remember him. Cheers Loran
  5. Hey Matt, I absolutely remember you. Cool that after all these years our paths are crossing again and certainly lucky you checked on your old posts. I live on an island North of Seattle. After NASA Ames (17 years)the FAA asked me work on their transportation standards staff. As soon as I left the FAA NASA ask me to contact or join SJSUF as an employee. I too have a business (7 yrs now) as a contractor via SJSUF. Time flies. Glad to learn you may have some of the video. I thought It might be fun to pull a presentation together for the Australian flight test group. I spend time ther
  6. Hi EDWMATT - I was one of the test pilots who flew the JU-1H 70-16318 Huey in icing conditions with the pneumatic deicers. I see that you show the rotor hub mounted camera along with the camera taking pics of the ice on the leading edge of the airfoil. Any idea how I can find the video of the airfoil taken from the HUB camera. thanks Loran Haworth
