  1. Seems my photobucket account was closed , I'll have to take new pictures here this week.
  2. J.C. I'll have a PM inbound to you shortly. Hippy Ed yeah shes comming along, though there was a set-back this morning , seems I didnt plan too well for the ride to the shop this morning and the model is no IFR probe-less, but since its an A-3D2 I decided to shave off the IFR probe plumbing and sand it smooth. I've been working on the low spots and uneven areas that I've already filled and sanded with Mr Surfacer 1200 that I've applied with a tooth pick , I should hopefully have some base coats for the paint scheme laid on tonight or tomorrow. I'll post pictures when I can , I can see the
  3. J.C. Well i havent been able to find the Hasegawa release lately and I had this kit in the closet for too long to remeber when I bought it and started it , I'm looking forward to the Hasegawa kit being re-released but I dont when it'll be out
  4. I havent posted an update on this build since before I seperated from active duty in the Marine Corps last July. Since the last one I've moved into a rental house and gotten the second bed room built up as the model work shop. But on to the update, the scratch built IFR probe is installed and faired into the kit molded pipe on the side of the fuselage. I swapped out the horizontal stabs from an extra kit I had of the same plane and they are installed and the putty is drying so I can fair them into the tail assembly. I was looking for a replacement for the kit main landing gear wheels , I found
  5. I have been working for a company that rebuilds HMMWV's for the Marine Corps , I've been doing alot of hood repairs lately, and it involves alot of fiber-glass work. But lo-and-behold last week I was getting one ready for prime and green and I used some of the old reliable on a few places that the fiber glass wouldnt stay put and it looked like it hadnt ever been touched once the sanding was done. On the aircraft modeling side of this , I use almost the exact same epoxy for attaching clear parts on models and for filling gaps where the joints need to be really strong. Just thought I would sh
  6. I just got the Academy HH-46D and am going to build it as either an MCAS Cherry Point or MCAS Beaufort SAR bird, I'm really hopping to avoid the paint mixing part of the build because I can never seem get the colors mixed right. Any help with will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking Keith
  7. I had a big order from Squadron dropped off yesterday. It included two Academy 144th transports, the Coast Gaurd R5 and the Navy UFO research Super Connie , but iy also had the new Revell GATO in 1/72 scale, a set of AFV club tracks for the M3 series light tanks, two PT-34 76 medium tanks, a BT-5 light tank, and six wheeled pre-war Russian armored car, as well as the Academy M-113 Fitter in 1/35, oh yeah and the Verlinden interior for the LVT-5 from Italeri. all in all a nice suprise on the front porch
  8. Heres a picture looking across the channel from where our ship was berthed, this is Atlantic Beach NC, you cant see it but this end of the island is the home of Fort Macon. Here's a few pictures of the garbage skow, I mean ship we were embarked on. Heres our sister ship S.S. Curtiss Heres a Gator freighter headed up North about a month after the war started. And here is your truly in full MOPP gear during our first NBC drill. I have some more pictures on a disk at home I'll post those tomorrow.
  9. I was looking around the internet for pictures of the squadron I did my first deployment with. Here are the fruits of my labor. I have a few more in my photobucket account and I'll post them when I can..
  10. Here is my old Monogram F4U-4 Corsair. This is the one with the folding wings, retractable landing gear, and other working features. This kit in its earlier rendition was also the first model I built when my Dad introduced me to this wonderful hobby. Hope you like her This is my Matchbox MiG-21. I got this kit off of Ebay about 2 years ago. The decals were shot, but the plastic was all there and in pretty good shape. I used a Monogram pilot figure to fill up the black hole of a cockpit and added the armoured glass behind the windscreen. The markings are from a DML Russian anti-aircraft t

Just my opinion , but the BBC isnt happy unless they're either one bashing the US, or two finding a way to make the US look like its doing something thats just got to be reviled by the rest of the world
  12. Back in Vietnam a downed pilot was rescued the same way those guys were inserted, a Golf model Cobra swooped in and picked him up before the NVA could get him
  13. Thats the whole reason I built it, it was a kit I built growing up and I saw it at Walmart and couldnt pass it up
  14. The Phantoms are off limits , lol, it took years to get the different Phantoms I have, those are definetly gonna be built.
