TigreTech started following 1/48 CH-53K?, LF 1/48 AH-1Z decals...., Question about MH-60L refuelling probe and 3 others

Hi all With the greatest respect to my USMC Aviation friends, as well as the injured pilot of my topic of interest, I'm looking for a set of decals for the AH-1Z (HMLA-369 Gunfighters), to commemorate MAJ Tyler Bracconi, who sadly lost his life within the last couple of weeks whilst on a WTI flight out of MCAS Yuma. MAJ Bracconi spent 4 years from 2020 on detachment at my Australian Army Aviation Squadron. I had the pleasure of working with him for 2 years out of those 4. He was a favourite amongst us maintainers. I appreciate it may not be possible to get current Gunfighters de

Question about MH-60L refuelling probe
TigreTech replied to TigreTech's topic in Helicopter Modeling
G'day Gunny Have you had any info back from your BH crew chiefs regarding above? Thanks Shaun -
G'day all After watching Ugur Kenel's build on UTube, I dug out one of my ICM MH-60 kits (non OGS) & started work on it. Is anyone aware of an a/m refuel probe for the Black Hawk? Is it possible to use a cut-down version of Reskit's -53 refuel probe? Cheers
-
G'day all My ICM Op. Gothic Serpent MH-60 kit arrived earlier this week, so I've started going through the ref material pinned here. I do have a question though... Does anyone know of a 1/48 FRIES set-up with resultant fast-ropes? Cheers

That occurred to me as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Golf, Kilo & a Mike down range soon

Thanks Dave. Anticipated that the IP was different but externally, the Lima & Mike models are very different?

G'day all I have ICM's MH-60L kit (not the Gothic Serpent boxing -yet). I'm keen to add a UH-60M to my stash now that our Army Aviation are flying them - is it possible to make a UH-60M from the parts in this kit? If not, where should I be looking? Cheers

Seeing that photo, I can just make out those screens now - hard to decipher that looking at the Revell instructions & not having the part in front of me. The Australian ARH has much bigger screens in those areas. Much like what that pics shows, the screen would receive the camo colours for that part of the cowl. Over time, as the screen is replaced through damage, I dare say it would be fitted & left in its protective coating, rather than over painted with camo again - which would obviously stand out against the potentially faded paint & exhaust staining of the cowl. That

Hey mate I have worked on the Australian ARH, so thought I might be able to offer some insight, & whilst there are differences between this model & the UHT & HAP variants, the exhaust diffuser is essentially the same on the wider fleet. I've just had a look through the instructions for the kit & to be honest, I'm at a loss as to how those 2 parts sit on the diffuser - they certainly don't exist on the ARH. Do you have a photo that shows that area better than what the instructions do? Shaun

Thanks mate. I had a feeling the R was the current variant as this aligns with what is cleared for use on the rotary platform I work on here in Australia. Having said that we tend to use the M more - maybe bc that's what we have a surplus of in the Armoury & they need to be used

Fresh question all Looking for info on current variant -114 (if allowed to share here) cleared for use on the a/c. Which variant most likely to have been used during OIF/OEF? Thanks p.s. appreciate if OPSEC precludes disclosure of said info

Hi all Was just reading that the USMC have started receiving their King Stallions in numbers. With this in mind, has anyone heard whispers of a model in 1/48? Academy?

What an awesome collection of info. Thanks mate
