  1. Build 8 of 2020 was supposed to be finished by 17 August, Indonesia's Independence Day. Better late than dead I always say! This is a straight build with decals from Caracal depicting TS-3011, an Su-30MK2 flown by TNI-AU (Indonesian Air Force). Most of my time was taken up with fixing the nose profile and recovering from various finishing disasters. Painted with acrylics and finished with oils. Weathering was minimal as the TNI-AU maintains their Flankers quite well. I can't help but play t
  2. Thanks! Yes it is. But I picked the wrong decals to use. She's not wearing the Battle of Britain markings. Yes it's the Hasegawa RAF pilot from the WWII pilot set.
  3. Thanks! Yes, was told on ARC FB about the ailerons. Some thing to watch out for in my next builds. Good catch! I missed out on painting the prop tips. ๐Ÿ˜›
  4. Thanks! I overdid the chipping so I spent some time toning them down. Luckily the end result is OK. ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. Build 7 of 2020 is a straight build of the RAF's unique/strange turreted interceptor from WWII. Except for the upper to lower wings fit, everything came together very easily. All done with acrylics and weathered to taste with acrylics and oil paints. More pictures and a build log at my site > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/works-airfix-48-boulton-paul-defiant/ All comments welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Thanks! Didn't think they'd be friction fit. I thought you used magnets. Thanks!
  7. Simple yet effective snow effects! How did you manage to make the missile pylons friction fit into the wings though?
  8. Thank you sir! I think the new Academy kit might be an easier and faster build. Agreed on the plot, but anime are usually more convoluted and melodramatic than they ever need to be ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. Hi. Thanks for the kind comments. I'm impatient so I don't leave the oil wash there for more than 5-10 mins. So long as it looks dry I'll deal with it. Some folks wipe with a dry towel but I use a paper towel that's damp with odorless thinner to help it along. Then the nooks and crannies are dealt with cotton buds that are again damp with thinner. HTH
  10. Whoa... coming from you, that's very high praise! ๐Ÿ˜„ Thank you sir! The AMRAAM is technically fictional but I believe the prototype Super Tomcat did carry it. Yeah! Unfortunately the Tomcat got totally owned by the SV-51. Heh...
  11. My 2nd build of 2020 is my take on Shin Kudo and Edgar Laselle's F-14A+ Kai that appeared in the anime Macross Zero. I mixed and matched the parts from the Hasegawa F-14B 'Super Tomcat' kit using screencaps as reference and modified some generic pilot figures to model Shin and Edgar. Decals are from a Chinese seller on eBay. This was a time consuming build but I'm liking the results. All comments welcome! 12. Thanks! It's all the kit. I just painted it. ๐Ÿ˜„
  13. My 7th build of the year is a somewhat easy build even with the finicky intake and its many parts. All done with acrylics with light weathering and she wears the 35th FW Wing Commander color markings from the 13th Fighter Squadron โ€˜Panthersโ€™ in 2010. The squadron is part of the 35th Fighter Wing, 5th Air Force, flying out of Misawa Air Base, Japan. She carries an asymmetric load because the F-16CM can now carry out the SEAD/DEAD mission. More pics on my site. All comments welcome.
  14. Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! I didn't do anything real fancy with the paintwork, just that I made my paint translucent so the layer below shows through easier. I made a post about it here > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/wip-fujimi-rf4c-4/
  15. This is a USAF RF-4C in the markings of 64-1047 from the 106th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (TRS) deployed during Operation Desert Shield. 64-1047 would be the โ€™top scorerโ€™ of 106th TRS, flying more missions than any other RF-4C during this period. The kit is a Fujimi with donor pylons and stores from other kits to 'modernize' it. This was surprisingly, a bear to build that needed 'basic modeling skills'. Definitely not my best work but I'm glad I can finish it. More pics and a build log @ https://ww
  16. ะกะฟะฐัะธะฑะพ! ๐Ÿ˜„
  17. This is fictional but it flies so I hope it's OK ๐Ÿ™‚ Build 4 of 2019 is a straight build of the VF-1S with extra extra FAST packs. All painted with acrylic paint and minor weathering. Built gear up like my usual Macross kits. Quite happy with how this turned out. This is based on the 'S-FAST pack / Config ver. 1.1 w' that appears in one of the Master File books just but both twin beam cannons mounted. Because more guns is always better. ๐Ÿ™‚ More pictures on my site > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/compl
  18. Build 3 of the year is a what-if aircraft designed by Testors in the late 1980s. The MiG-37B Ferret E is their idea of a Soviet stealth fighter. My kit is an Italeri rebox. The build is simple but the fit leaves much to be desired so I spent quite a bit of time filling gaps. This was given a custom digital camouflage scheme of my own design. Markings are from my spares box. More pictures and a build log on my site > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-italeri-72-mig-37b-ferret/ All comments welcome!
  19. Thanks! Thanks! There are some sink marks very near rivets and panel lines to watch out for. Otherwise, there's nothing major.
  20. Build 2 of 2019 is a straight build of a lesser known dive bomber variant of the P-51 Mustang. The mold is originally from Accurate Miniatures and was a trouble-free build. The seat harness was scratchbuild but everything else was stock including the very good decals. It has a shark mouth! How could I resist? All comments welcome! More pictures and a build log here > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-italeri-48-a36-apache/
  21. Thanks for the kind comments everyone I added a small fishing weight (maybe about 20g) as recommended by the instructions in the small space provided in front of the cockpit.
  22. Build 6 for this year is my first ever Airfix kit. Quite trouble-free except for the small parts which all require trimming to fit. The completion of this build coincides with the month Indonesia gained independence in 1945. Markings are from Scale Nutz depicting TNI-AU's Hawk 109 TT-1203 from Skadron 12 'Panther Hitam' (12th Air Squadron 'Black Panthers') which flew out of Pekanbaru, Sumatra (not Wakanda).
