  1. This is a USAF RF-4C in the markings of 64-1047 from the 106th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (TRS) deployed during Operation Desert Shield. 64-1047 would be the ’top scorer’ of 106th TRS, flying more missions than any other RF-4C during this period. The kit is a Fujimi with donor pylons and stores from other kits to 'modernize' it. This was surprisingly, a bear to build that needed 'basic modeling skills'. Definitely not my best work but I'm glad I can finish it. More pics and a build log @ https://ww
  2. This is fictional but it flies so I hope it's OK 🙂 Build 4 of 2019 is a straight build of the VF-1S with extra extra FAST packs. All painted with acrylic paint and minor weathering. Built gear up like my usual Macross kits. Quite happy with how this turned out. This is based on the 'S-FAST pack / Config ver. 1.1 w' that appears in one of the Master File books just but both twin beam cannons mounted. Because more guns is always better. 🙂 More pictures on my site > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/compl
  3. Build 3 of the year is a what-if aircraft designed by Testors in the late 1980s. The MiG-37B Ferret E is their idea of a Soviet stealth fighter. My kit is an Italeri rebox. The build is simple but the fit leaves much to be desired so I spent quite a bit of time filling gaps. This was given a custom digital camouflage scheme of my own design. Markings are from my spares box. More pictures and a build log on my site > https://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-italeri-72-mig-37b-ferret/ All comments welcome!
  4. Thanks! Thanks! There are some sink marks very near rivets and panel lines to watch out for. Otherwise, there's nothing major.
  5. Build 2 of 2019 is a straight build of a lesser known dive bomber variant of the P-51 Mustang. The mold is originally from Accurate Miniatures and was a trouble-free build. The seat harness was scratchbuild but everything else was stock including the very good decals. It has a shark mouth! How could I resist? All comments welcome! 6. Thanks for the kind comments everyone I added a small fishing weight (maybe about 20g) as recommended by the instructions in the small space provided in front of the cockpit.
  7. Build 6 for this year is my first ever Airfix kit. Quite trouble-free except for the small parts which all require trimming to fit. The completion of this build coincides with the month Indonesia gained independence in 1945. Markings are from Scale Nutz depicting TNI-AU's Hawk 109 TT-1203 from Skadron 12 'Panther Hitam' (12th Air Squadron 'Black Panthers') which flew out of Pekanbaru, Sumatra (not Wakanda). 8. This is the Y-wing fighter from Star Wars built out of the box and given a custom color scheme. The kit is great: fits well, nary a seamline, very slight ejector pin marks but is now somewhat overshadowed by the newer Bandai release which is a snapfit kit. In any case, highly recommended. Build 5 of 2018 Thanks for looking. All comments welcome! More pictures and a build summary here > http://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-finemolds-172-ywing/
  9. Build 4 of 2018 is a Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet A operated by Top Aces, a civilian contractor flying these jets for adversary training purposes. All I'll say is this Kinetic kit definitely 'requires basic modeling skills'. Out of the box except detailing up the cockpit, canopy and landing gear. The result looks good from 2 feet away which is good enough for me. Thanks for looking. More pics and a build log @ http://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-kinetic-148-alpha-jet-top-aces/
  10. Thanks for the kind comments. And yes, brilliant kit with excellent fitting and details. :)
  11. Build 3 of 2018 is a 95% OOB build. The 5% is: drilling out the gun barrels and replacing with 0.5mm brass pipes adding an aerial using my daughter's hair though I gave up doing the shorter one scratchbuilt seatbelts markings for Marian Carl's WIldcat in 1942 Guadalcanal from Techmod. Quite happy with how it turned out although some obvious mistakes if you know where to look. All comments welcome
  12. This is out of the box except for the seatbelts made of masking tape and stretched sprue for the pitot tube. Some of the details show the age of the mold but all in all, it fit well and was pretty trouble-free. Markings in 801 NAS during the Falklands War. This is my 8th build of 2017. Thanks for looking! All comments welcome. More pictures and a write-up on my site.
  13. Thanks for the kind comments everyone. :) Oh. Besides the post Sabre Freak quoted above, I keep a running tally of paints I use. HTH
  14. Number 7 of the year is a kit I stopped doing for 3 or so months due to a slowdown of momentum. It's finally done with a few mistakes that are all my doing. OOB with a resin seat from Wolfpack Design and decals from TwoBobs. The kit wears the markings of an F-5E from the 26th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron in the 1970s. Sharkmouths are always cool :) More pictures on my site > http://www.rocketpunch.biz/completed-afvclub-148-f5e-tiger-26tfts/
  15. ARC Forums have come through once again. Thanks guys! :)
  16. I'm building an Aggressor F-5E with circa late 70s - early 80s markings and I'm wondering if the ACMI pod would have been mounted then.
  17. Very nice job on the painting. Any close-up photos of the cockpit work that was done?
  18. Thanks for the kind comments. Lovely design of the markings sir.
  19. This is the classic Hasegawa kit with updated parts to depict the ADF variant. The kit comes with everything except the port side nose spotlight. Markings are from TwoBobs (designed by Paolo Maglio) for MM7236, an F-16A ADF deployed by the Aeronautica Militare's (Italian Air Force) 5 Stormo in 2010. She wears custom markings nicknamed 'Diana' to commemorate the unit's disbandment. Based on the photos I've seen, I weathered MM7236 but kept the markings clean. She is depicted in QRA loadout with 1x AMRAAM and 1x Sidewinder and 2 drop tanks.
  20. Finished it in time for Indonesia's Independence Day (17 August 2016) and as part of the Far Out Far East! groupbuild. This build depicts F-338, a P-51D Mustang piloted by Captain Ignatius Dewanto who scored an aerial victory by shooting down a B-26 piloted by CIA agent Allen Pope, on 18 May 1958 during the PERMESTA Rebellion. Built OOB with only a scratchbuilt bent antenna on the spine with 0.5mm plastic card. Decals are from Cap Jempol Metal, a local decal producer. Work went very smoothly until the end when I screwed up the gloss coat which explains the lack of panel lining. >

  22. Work on decals begin as I was bogged down with another case of the gloss coat messing up with the finish. I had to strip and redo a few panels on the port side of the fuselage. In any case, it means I’ll have to avoid showing that side. The patching isn’t that great. The AURI Mustang has a sharkmouth that has a unique Balinese flair to it. The colored decals all come as a 2 layer affair so some aligning needs to be done. Otherwise though, they prove to be easy to use even with my clumsy hands. They can take some handling and react well to Mark Softer. I still managed to tear some of the de
  23. AURI (Indonesian Air Force) flew P-51s in the late 1950s. This Mustang will be in F-338’s markings, which is one of the few AURI aircraft to score an air-to-air victory: it shot down a B-26 piloted by a CIA agent during the Permesta rebellion. The nose was masked and sprayed and the prop was painted separately. The nosecone is Game Color Bloody Red and the props are Model Air Black Grey with Game Color Sunburst Yellow over a base of Game Color Dead White. The completed nose is attached to the fuselage with a polycap. This particular Mustang had a unique bent antenna on the spine which I scrat
  24. Great! Thanks for the clarification. Have it in my to-build queue. I'll push it up. :)
