Regardless of whether or not I go for building the Academy 1/72 B-29 as "Doc," I definitely want to create a livery for the Virtavia B-29 in X-Plane.

Thanks, @Sabrejet... exactly as pictured. There's no shortage of reference images. Doing it pretty much as I expect it will be this coming Saturday when I plant myself in the bombardier's seat for a "Flight Experience" ...a glorified obscenely expensive aeroplane ride. $50/min. 😆

The hill got a little bit taller this year with the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE update of Doc's markings. There are lots of places that can do custom decals - there's a place in Tucson that I've spoken to in the past about doing decals. Reproductions, Inc. Are you still game for this? The decals could be sized for pretty much any scale, but I would think 1/72 or 1/48 would be needed to do the aircraft justice.
