  1. Looking for sets of the resin wheels for the HB XM-706 Commando Car. I need at least three sets of these tires and any detail sets for hatches, interior and do onfor the air Force version.
  2. It's been a long time since I've been around a F-15 or even built one. However I have the same kit of Lt.Col. Wallace's aircraft. He flew it as the Commander of the William Tell Shogun team when they deployed to Florida for the competition. They flew ono-stop from Kadena to Florida and made it within 10 minutes of their estimated time. I worked inteh scheduling section for the fighter wing and would see the team almost every day. I have included a shot of the team the day they left for the states, one where they got back, and a couple when they were in flight . I don't see any
  3. One day I saw a very impressive sight while walking from the armory to the mail room on the road close to the flight line. Three "D' models flew low level down the length of the runway in a "V" formation, They were followed by a DC-130 return home and until dark every aircraft coming back did this before they landed. I sat on the ledge outside my barracks window for a while and watched. I think it was for the 25th anniversary of the Air Force.
  4. This shot was taken during a Security Police display someone decided to set up in the Chapel parking lot after an attack. All of a sudden people were curyous about us and what happened and what our equipment looked like. The dog was from the patrol dog section of our K-9 section. They were much more controlable than the Sentry dogs. Tamiya made a Farm animal set that included at least one dog, You could do that picture if you can find a Sheppard. I might do the same with one of my kits, I hadn't thought of it before.
  5. Thank you, that's one of a couple I was intending to post. Lately I haven't been successful with posting on ARC, but can elsewhere. It must be me.
  6. I tried posting a shot of one of our vehicles to show the colors, but something went wrong again.
  7. Has anybody picked up their copy of the A.F. Security Police M-706 Commando Car? Mine arrived a few days ago and I intend to get two more, one for each of the color schemes I know of. Two were in most of our squadrons but there was a third that showed up when we were given a couple from another base North of us. As usual there are parts for other versions included and these need to be removed from the kit before building. The floor of the hull needs to be covered to hide the sink holes and lettering for the V-150 version if you intend to have the blast doors open to see the inte

  9. When did the bats become a expeditionary force squadron? When I was last in the 44th, in the 80s, we were a tactical fighter squadron and were assigned to the 18th T.F.W. at Kadena. Where are they assigned now and is it a permanent or T.D.Y. assignment?
  10. How old is the kit? There have been several put out since the was on T.V. back in the 60s.
  11. Are you kidding me? When is this supposed to come out? That would save me a ton of work that I had to put on my first hand made conversion and I have three paint schemes from the war. It looks like it comes with some photo etch. I probably will have to make the other things needed like hatch details, engine compartment walls, seats and so on. I remember these were much more fun to drive than our M-113s, and faster too.
  12. That looks pretty good. I can see a lot of similarities between this and the H-43. I didn't know this was also called a Huskie but I wouldn't go sa far as to call it a Pedro. That name didn't come out until Vietnam. The name Pedro was taken from a flight mission name assigned to one of the rescue squadrons aand was in use back in 1971 when I took my first recon ride at out base. From the looks of the HUK the similarities are apparent and I can see the improvements they made. The engine was changed and mounted just below the pylons that were also changed. The engine must have
  13. Thanks. I take it that includes the :// too as well as the . before jpg.
  14. I didn't know you could do that. What did you do exactly? I'm not that good with computers. This particular C-130 was from Iran, back when the Sha was still in charge. Countries would send people to Little rock for some type of classes. This crew made the mistake of not knowing that their pylon tanks were full. Somehow they flew all the way over here and when they landed they did it thinking the tanks were empty and adjusted for that. The mechanics told us they hit so hard that they damaged the tanks and some of the wing on impact. The crew never attended school because the
  15. try this again. 16. If those Herks were going to Little Rock and back then most likely they were assigned to the 314th at L.R. While I was there a squadron would deploy to either England or Germany and would run Herks back and forth during the employment. In the mean time Herks from Pope would take the other country, Germany or England and do the same thing. If you had the time it was a good way to go over there, It was inexpensive but you were traveling space-A. Sometimes that took a while. Here's a C-130 in Desert camo from Iran at Little Rock: [URL=https://app.photobucket.com/u/ikar_photos/a/bd
  17. Once I had to go to the 48th FIS at Langley to help out because somehow they ended up short handed. One of the interesting things I saw was a area on the other side of therunway that was operated by NASA. They had some F-106s parked there that I was told they would send up to get hit by lightning.
  18. I watched his guy come back through my office window in 5th Fighter Ops. and his tail was still smoking. That hole was big enough to through a office desk through.
  19. Yeah, you're probably right, unless they found it in a military scrap yard for some forgotten type of aircraft. Those scrap yards were all over the place back then. I remember seeing a large field of nothing but canopied and turrets and another with assorted aircraft parts in southern N.J. when I was a kid and our home town had storage area not too far from a friend of my Father that we used to sneak into after dark, and a train depot in town about a mile from Picatinny Arsennel that was loaded with stacks of navy life rafts and other things in crates left there until the late 80s.
  20. I'd have to go to the F-106B, T-33, and F-4, followed by the F-101B.
  21. What, no jet pack? Where did you find this thing, how big is it, and dare I ask, how much? I remember when I was in Okinawa, I saw a add for a larger model of the SPV from main land Japan but when I checked the stores they told me it would not be shipped to Okinawa. You probably wouldn't like the reason.
  22. Where did they get the vertical tail that they used in the original Thing From Another World movie back in 1951?
  23. All us skycops assumed it was the CIA and we left it alone and kept quiet and as far away as possible. The CIA had a reputation back then that made most people avoid them if possible. Was it deserved? we didn't know of care to ask.
  24. If you like flying wings, there's always the YB-49. But for more conventional aircraft:
  25. Never found out for sure who they were. Somebody got posted each shift, each one informed that anybody approaching the aircraft with out a member of the crew was to be shot. We were not to go around asking questions. One day I took my jeep to that end of the base and we found out it had left during the night. We never saw it again.
