  1. My next F-15C is from my old Kadena Wing..it will probably be the Wing King ... that would actually complete my PACAF fighter set for the early 2000s.. of course I will need to mull over A-10s from Osan and Eielson....All this of course after my next project of a Academy 90FS F-22...
  2. Nice ... i'll be using the same set of decals for the 389FS jets.... I need to put the models in better natural lighting as the weathering will show...what are u arming the F-15E with?
  3. For the 366th - I just wanted to do the squadron jets... that will be it for Mountain Home... I'll be finishing off my F-15E set with a Lakenheath OG jet and then Hoping to do Seymour Johnsons Wing King jet with whomever comes out with the wing king decals...
  4. Finishing up my 366th Fighter Wing jets... 1/48 Hasegawa F-15C of the 390FS Wild Boars, Revell F-15E of the Bold Tigers, and Hasegawa F-16CJ of the 389FS T-Bolts... The T-bolts converted to the F-15E and that jet will be completed this week...I will post better pics soon
  5. Completed my PACAF Viper commanders jets .. 1/48 scale.. all Hasegawa except for the 13FS commanders jet which is a Tamiya 13FS Misawa Airbase, Japan 36FS Osan Airbase, ROK 354FW Eielson AFB, AK 8FW Kusan Airbase, ROK
  6. Australian F-111Cs were wired to carry AGM-88s ... also the McDonnel Douglas (Boeing now) had the F-15E demonstrator converted to a F-15G for a little bit..even had the chin bump... Eglin Armament Center had an F-15E carry AGM-88s for weapons suitability testing. But the Air Force SEAD mission will be carried on by the F-16CJ squadrons for sometime.
  7. Cool.. Scotty - I'm looking forward to seeing your Langley F-22 as I will be working on the 90FS squadron commanders jet. I have built a 90th TFS F-4G and also a 90FS F-15E and put it up in the FORUM here... Cheers!
  8. I'm about to start my Academy F-22 as well.. notice also that the 90FS Squadron commanders bird - one of the "90th FS" is not shaded on the academy decal sheet. Instead I am going to piece together a 90 and FS from the other markings since you technically have 18 choices. There was a review either on IPMS or some other modelling site that I forgot that the metallic effect is just the lighting reflection on that particular grey.. and up close you dont see it as a metalic grey.. I was more worried as looking at the sample photos on the Academy box - the one they built had light greys and Dark
  9. Current Wild Weasel is the Air Force HTS equiped F-16CJs which specifically has squadrons that fly SEAD as their main mission. The Navy's EA-6B and the incoming F/A-18G provide SEAD and ECM Jamming.
  10. Here's some better resolution shots..
  11. I think you meant not enough Aggressors in the last 20 years... F-15s and F-16s have always filled the DACT role.. F-15Cs from Langley and F-16s from Shaw fly DACT against each other as well as against Navy or Marine jets. Squadrons try and fly at least one DACT assignment every quarter or six months.
  12. what markings you doing it for? I'm about to start mine as well. I really like the full decal set but I noticed on the box art that they panted the jet light grey(s) and the markings are real dark... as opposed to the darker greys and the lighter tail markings.. I'll have to do a test later.
  13. 1/48 scale Kinetic F-16DJ along with Tamiya F-16CJ . Although the Tamiya is the better kit .. the stuff you get and with patience with the Kinetic kit makes it something worth the price.
  14. True but not to the extent that we did after Desert Fox. The most intense bombing before hand was around 1998 during my last Operation Northern Watch TDY out of Incirlik as the Seymour Johnson F-15Es were dropping a retaliation strike everday for almost three weeks.
  15. Brian, I'm sure you remember VF-32 Swordsmen and to some extent VF-213 had done some LGB dropping during December 1998s Operation Desert Fox in Iraq.... the extent of that operation was actually felt up until OIF. VF-32 came back into the Mediterranean and was 24 hours away from part of the Enterprise Battlegroup to start OAF but was cancelled. Enterprise returned to the Persian Gulf and then returned home with a big debate if they would join the Roosevelt CVG in the Mediterranean for Allied Force as they passed by Italy. Wierd deployment that my cousin was on as BiG E sped to relieve the
  16. Brian - yeah I didnt mean you saying they werent. Yes I noticed the VF-41 pic of 103 carrying no LTS (which is unusual since it was only one of 6 LTS equipped F-14s of the 11 F-14s deployed) and the other is 105 which was configured for CAP. Cheers, Berto
  17. Sorry but it was the Tomcat crews that were FAC-A certified and the ones lasing other peoples bombs! VF-41 and VF-14 along with VF-102 and subsequent F-14s crews were the ones that had this job. FAC-A is considered a "masters degree" for F-14 and now F-18F pilots and RIO. VF-41 and VF-14 were also the FAC-A crews that flew alot during the Serbian Conflict.
  18. What do you mean LANTIRN don't need to work? The LGBs need guidance and your right either from the F-14 itself using LANTIRN or another jet (the F-14 crews are normally the FAC-A certified crews so they are the ones that normally lase and guide other peoples bombs.) - or the ground FAC but there has to be a working laser designator. REMEMBER alot of bombs are designated GBUs but you have the difference between LGBs (Laser Guided Bombs) and JDAMs. Recently we have bombs that can be both.
  19. The F-4Gs and F-16Cs out of Spang carried two AGM-88s and ALQ-131s for their combat loads at the beginning of Desert Storm/Proven Force. The grey sharkmouth was carried on the F-4G 52 TFW flagship while some of the F-16s carried the subdued sharkmouths. During Desert Storm the F-4G and one F-16C carried the colored sharkmouths. I built both F-4G types.
  20. From the latest news... the 90th from Elmendorf will deploy 12 F-22s to Andersen and the 27th from Langley will do a return trip to Kadena for three month AEF cycle in January. That'll be an interesting deployment.
  21. Does anyone have full shots of the VS-35 Santa Tracker? I see that two bobs decals has some shots but Im curious to know if anyone has a full shot or a hi res shot of the jet?
  22. A special thanks for all of you that participated in this endevour. Much like the real world.. there are only a handful of sam suppression aircraft and units in the world so its a unique build. I envisioned this build last year a boy did time fly. I am one of the unfortunate ones that aimed high but fell far short. But I will finish my EA-18G.. The biggest credit and thanks goes to Richard... he stepped up and volunteered as the co moderator and he ran with it. He dealt with the sponsors and organized alot! Again kudos goes to Richard for being there and for all of you that participated
  23. They are all 1/48 scale...Italeri for the F-22
  24. Those are out of production aeromaster Clark F-4E/G decals...
