  1. Actually I kind of thought it would be cool ... the action figure or as some of you girleeee men call them dolls... will be a base line for a couple projects I plan on doing ... one I have been playing around with the thought of a starting a comic be it online or hardcopy format using the figures as references and second I am thinking of trying to make 1/32 or 1/48 scale down copies of these figures.
  2. Last month a guy I had trained way back in Desert Storm called me up for drinks in Tampa. He had just come back from Iraq and gave me an account about how his unit got out of a bind. He just finished his tour as Air Force terminal controller attached to the army. Earlier this year they encountered one of the few convoys that the army still uses and right before they got there IEDS went off and insurgents began peppering them with small arms fire and RPGs. As the fire fight continued he called in for air support. A larger convoy was being watched by an F-16 in the south and imediately came
  3. Decided for fun I'd just limit myself to a blonde.. brunette.. and redhead..
  4. As some people will attest... 90FS... Dicemen!!!! F-4Gs.. F-15Es... F-22As!
  5. Looks like the guys from Aviano brought their LANTIRN pods to Kunsan.....
  6. McEntire carried both the LANTIRN and LITENING pods during OIF... in fact they had the dedicated SC ANG C-130s travel around the US to scrounge some of the LITENINGs. Here's the pic of one at Al Udeid with the LITENING.
  7. From what I been told... the F-16 came from the Oklahoma squadron as the ANG is flying rainbow sharing each others jet.
  8. Talk about a world tour ... Aviano to Eielson then on to Kusan. I believe this is the first time a European based Air Force squadron has deployed to the very far east.... There were pilots from USAFE that deployed during Vietnam but didn't bring their planes. Aviano squadron rotating to South Korea By Kent Harris, Stars and Stripes European edition, Saturday, June 16, 2007 AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy — Almost half the firepower of Aviano Air Base will soon be on display in the Republic of South Korea. The bulk of the 555th Fighter Squadron and its F-16 aircraft have been participati
  9. Scott - sorry if I had put in a jibe in there as I know people have good intentions... but yes the message is cool model to build!
  10. LOL hey Chappie the point I was making is the markings and the loadout are unique on both aggressor "CAMO'd" aircraft and it would be cool for someone to model them! How about them responses...
  11. Stole the one off my HAS Harrier....but a couple years ago I set out and made a few resin ones but due to Hurricane damage to my house here in Florida decided not to pursue the resin business... but happy that Dr. Pepper is available!
  12. Yeah you know thats a very good idea... why didn't I think of that??? :D
  13. Yeah I stand corrected... SNIPER POD... but yeah .. I've seen Nellis Aggressors carrying HTS pods... Aggressor with HTS pod
  14. This would be interesting to build along with a Nellis Aggressor Block 52 D model with HTS pod.
  15. Something someone can build ... without the so called F-16 model "experts" proclaiming that load never existed...
  16. Back in town and now able to post more pics...
  17. I've done the F-4G in 1/48 four times... there were eight different squadrons and five of them flew in four different schemes. There were four wing commander jets and eight squadron commander jets. Other then two Clark F-4Gs all the other ones will be built as squadron commander jets or wing commander jets. Thats specifically what I build is either numbered air force, wing, and squadron commander jets.
  18. I personally prefer the HAS F-4Gs....
  19. Completed.... more pics will follow after I get back from business trip
  20. In the mid 80s... the 13th flew with black and white checkertails and the 14th flew with yellow and black ones... The Puegots (3TFS) were the squadron that ran COPE THUNDER for a couple years before returning to flying operations. Remember the 35th left George and went to Iceland for a year before going to Misawa. I wonder how the composition for the Holloman squadrons will be???? Has the beddown statement come out yet?
  21. The Air Force decided to activate one of it's most decorated squadrons the 561st Black Knights formally flying the king of Phantoms the F-4G Wild Weasel. Well they activated them to fly the mighty "DESK" as the Black Knights become the 561 JTS - Joint Tactics Squadron which will be based at Nellis with air force, navy, and marine aviators/tacticians. I find it so puzzling when the Air Force decides to do activations and inactivations - a good example is the Elmendorf F-22 beddown ... 90FS converted from F-15E to F-22 that seemed logical as the 90FS was already there... but to inactivate the
  22. Unless I missed it I don't believe the 366th had a F-16CJ marked for the Wing Commander - I've only seen the F-15C and F-15Es labeled but there was one F-16CJ for the 366th OG. 366OG F16CJ52 at F-16.net This is my 389FS Squadron Commander's jet F-16CJ BK52 CCIP
  23. Guys! Isn't it great that each Block 50 F-16CJ wing (Shaw, Misawa, Spang) is represented in the previous post! Course the 27FW 522nd FS Fireballs at Cannon will be going away in September and perhaps someone will model that.
  24. I posted this some three weeks ago... it was great to build - yes there are issues but nothing a modeller can not overcome. Still one of the better kits I've got a chance to do and I have two more to do.
  25. I used Eduards remove before flight and scratch built some covers and it makes some interesting differences..
