  1. I've virtually completed an Airfix 72-scale Sea Knight (in Swedish Navy OOB markings). (sorry - the pasting of the photo FAILED!!) I've lined the (otherwise) hollow inside and added seats (for something to look-at). I can open the rear doors and I've left the starboard 2-part door open in the way is happens on the real thing. But I dunno what happens to the port-side door. Which way does it move to open? Any ideas? Many thanks. George, out..............
  2. AF White - suggestion (to make the task easier). Mask only longitudinally (along the axis of the fuselage) with long lengths of tape, then spray. Next, strip-off the masking, then mask (in the same way) across the axis, and repeat. I like to use three strips to do the masking - the first(a narrow one) along one side of the 'panel', another narrow one along the other side, then a 3rd to bridge the gap between, and to overlap, the two. Good luck with 'the big one'. George, out..............
  3. G'Day Charlie. PM read & a return PM sent. HTH. George, out..............
  4. G'Day Charlie C. Send me your delivery address,nd I'll send you some black EZ-Line from Australia. It'll be only a standard letter. No charge (it wouldn't be worth the hassle). George, out..................
  5. Black under the rotor blades? Ahhh - additional info. Many thanks, Winnie. George, out...........
  6. Belly is dark green, so I'll do the underside of the rotors in that too. I'll splinter-cam the tops of the rotors as per Barkin' Mad's photo (many thanks, Mate). Why didn't I think of IPMS Stockholm? George, out............
  7. Belly is dark green, so I'll do the underside of the rotors in that too. I'll splinter-cam the tops of the rotors as per Barkin' Mad's photo (many thanks, Mate). George, out............
  8. I'm gunna start this as I have acquired a slightly-started kit (the inside is painted interior green). It'll be done OOB(ish) in the Swedish 4-colour splinter camouflage pattern (it looks similar to a Viggen) with the kit decals. But while perusing the instructions, I couldn't help but notice that the instructions are suspiciously uninformative on the colours of A) the interior of the fuselage (there's precious little provided in the kit anyway) and B) the top & under-surfaces of the rotor blades. Can the Brains Trust here assist me? I've seen a photo of a model of this type of chopp
  9. You could insert the frame parts (from card or rod) then fill the clear bits with Krystal Kleer. Good luck your your search (or solution), Mr B. George, out...............
  10. AND - the Bandai 144-scale kit is about 10% BIGGER than the Fine Molds 144-scale kit. They can't BOTH be right. George, out............
  11. Yes to all of the above, BUT - on the one I fondled, the instructions show the lighting kit, but it is NOT included in the kit (so why the clear blue bit?), fine piping is moulded separately (see this post) BUT the radar dish support is cast as a solid chunk, large exhaust ports have moulded-in detail, BUT it is to be covered-over with a solid plate (is a PE set due-in?) the cannon-controls are also chunky, the landing gear pads are cast solid (as per all other kits of the MF) - not perforated, But these are only MY observations. The lighting kit is available as a separate buy. George
  12. Hey, I'm really happy that they got through. Thanks Teeradej. George, out................
  13. Hi Teeradej. Decals (& return address) sent 5 days ago. George, in Aust, out........
  14. G'Day Teeradej. I can cover you, for the main bots, but not the stenciling (#26-39). I'm in Melbourne, Australia, and I'll cover the postage. Send to where? George, out..............
  15. I'm in the same boat with that MiG.3 and a 72-scale Wirraway. My solution is to fill the errant item with liquid plaster, then vacform myself one on that plaster plug. I'm in Melbourne, Australia. Good luck in your search. George, out...............
  16. Only Leonard Nimoy could do Spock. Anyone else will be merely copying him. Live Long and Prosper. The Greeks say that, you have not gone as long as someone remembers your name. Leonard Nimoy, you (and others, like James Doohan) will be immortal. Many thanks for the memories. George, out............
  17. Squadron or Falcon can't help you? George, out.............
  18. It seems that Revell will soon release Star Wars models in 72-scale. But they seem to have virtually exactly the same box-art as the (now defunct) Finemoulds very-fine Star Wars models. So, did Revell buy or lease, the old Finemoulds moulds? George, out.............
  19. I would advise that you do not sweat on the accuracy of olive drab. I don't, especially since I saw a brilliant article on a modelling forum by a modeller & photographer who painted a very-large (24-scale?) P.51D Mustang in OD. Then he proceeded to photograph it in various lighting conditions, different angles, different ranges and different magnifications. The OD varied from photo to photo. It even varied in shade from front to rear in the same photo. He advised that we modellers do nor sweat on the correct shade of OD. He could not offer any counter for the rivet counters and colou
  20. Why don't you indulge your imagination, and build a few from scratch (and bits from your spares box). Size & shape are really irrelevant, as long as they look OK tethered to your DS9. The objective is to have fun. Good luck. George, out................
  21. Excellent. Many thanks for the heads-up. George, out..............
  22. G'Day all. OK - I've bought the Pegasus aerial & tank HKs (Hunter-Killers), but in my opinion, they need in-scale T-800 exoskeleton terminators to go with them. Are there any available, or are there any coming out soon? In the same vein, I was (and still am) waiting for Star Wars droid troopers to be produced, that are in-scale with the Trade Federation tank. George, out..............
  23. There was one in the Arii 72-scale Rufe kit (No. 4). The kit parts represented I-beam steel, with steel wheels (each with 6 lightning holes). I 'lined' my upright parts with timber (so as not to damage the aircraft, or its floats, on the steel. Good luck with your search for accurate information, and your project. George, out................
  24. The torpedo-shaped tanks from the Airfix Hurricane kit won't do? Those I CAN supply. George, out.........
  25. G'Day Chris, I'm not sure of your question, but I can give you an answer. It's YOUR model, so please yourself. But, if you intend to enter your model into a competition, go with your reference. IE - if you include only the instructions with your model, place the triangle/s as per the instructions. But if you intend to include the on-line photo/s (which is contradictory to the instructions) as well, then go with the photo, and point-out this contradiction to the Judge/s, and state that you went with the photo. The Judge/s can compare the photo side-by-side with the instructions. I ho
