  1. Well I was a tank commander and platoon Sergeant in the National Guard. So I stuck with it and use it in most other forums I belong to as well. The avitar I like to use but can't here is Oddball from "Kelly'e Heros" my favorite tank commander. Crewed 5 different tanks and commanded 3 of them. Love aircraft as well but when it came time to enlist I picked a tank, its the only vehicle an EM can command. Death before dismount means we don't like to walk. "Allons" is the motto of the 11th ACR my first Unit. TC
  2. Plus one Avenel Hobbies. Great selection decent prices.good selection of paint as well. TC
  3. I have watched it grow every day on my way to work. I have to get into the city and see the park. I lived in the area all my life, except for my active duty time and never went to the top of the Twin Towers. I will visit the Freedom Tower when finished. TC
  4. Just got the kit myself but I wanted to finish the Italieri kit I started years ago. Test bed for some new tecnhques I have seen. The Bronco kit does look awesome if somewhat complicated. TC
  5. Hope to see you on Saturday. just bought 4 gigs of memory for the camera. TC
  6. Just wondering if anyone else in the New Jersey area was going to the Airshow at Mcguire Dix Lakehurst Joint Base.I'll be going and bringing extra memory. What about the days when we brought film. Anyway it looks like a good show with static and flying B-1B and of course the Thunderbirds. TC
  7. Every time modelers get together they show each other their X-Acto scars like old warriors its a right of passage. Wasn't there something in Henry the V about modeling on ST. Crispans Day he will be my brother or something. TC
  8. well I have not built mine yet but most other web sites say that its tough stretching the cover over the mantle need lots of crazy glue. Also it may be tough assembling the road wheels more Crazy glue. Other wise its the best Cent in town. I have 4 in the stash. TC
  9. Barrel Store Here is another source for barrels, I just ordered some for the Italieri M24 Chaffee. I'll let you know how the service was, they have a huge selection of barrels and brands. TC
  10. Perth has it listed by AFV club. The picture shows an M109A2 or 3. TC
  11. A new M109 is on the way not sure who, one of the new Chinese companies I think. TC
  12. I was there they kept it pretty quiet in the Terminals. the only way we could tell something was up was to look on the runway and see all the flashing lights. TC
  13. There were used in Desert Storm, I remember seeing one in Aberdeen after the war, I don't believe many were used at all. It is an interesting version, but with Tamiyas intrest in Israel why not an Israeli modified T55. TC
  14. Yet Luckymodel ships certain products for free from Hong Kong. Are envelopes that much cheaper in China. TC
  15. God bless those gentlemen and I want to wish a fellow veteran God Speed. Why do we call men who fought that battle survivors. Didn't the majority of the service men in Pearl survive. It was a functioning base hours after the attack. Less then 3000 were lost the majority on the Arizona. Do we call men who fought the Battle of the Bulge, Hue, D-day, Iwo survivors? Or is it because we lost at Pearl. Or are they survivors against our battle with time. Again no disrespect to those gallant men who went on to fight till 45. They were the greatest generation. I just think Pearl Harbor Veteran would
  16. I look at it as a way of expressing support for the Army. I wear my BDUs to do yard work especially working on a ladder, the pockets really come in handy. The people who critize are losers and wanabees. The thing that really ticks me off are the posers who put on complete camo and boots but never served a day. The airsoft crew who have more gear then a soldier in Afgahanastan are a real joke. Losers with a capital L. TC
  17. What you would have to do is covered in many sci fi stories of a similar vein, down grade your tech. Where do they land first of all in the provinces or near Rome? Rome had lots of enemies, allies would not be hard to get. Ammo will run out, black powder will not work in a M4. If you have anyone skilled in metallurgy you make flintlocks. The John Ringo series Ring of Fire has a West Virginia coal town transported into the midst of the 30 years war. 10000 trained men with bayonets and smooth bore muskets backed by the MEU would devestate a dozen legions. A good machine shop, some foundry workers
  18. All military troops who deploy are imunized against everything possible. Its part of job, even smallpox and plague. TC
  19. I just picked up 2 Cyber Hobby ship kits on Amazon.com. I got the 1/700 scale Long Beach and Albany. The Long Beach for $26 and the Albany for $31. The prices were better then Luckymodel and free shipping to boot. I had not thought of Amazon for models but the prices were good and selection although not great had some gems. So folks it may be worth a look every now and then. TC
  20. Hey Rich, is it really that good, alot of reviewers were not that happy with it. I would just like a good kit that goes together well and looks like the Warspite. One thing that may need some work is the 15" barrels the blast bags put them at max depression. May take some work to fix or after market. On another note I've been to Kingston really liked the town, it has been a few years though. It was an easy hop from Fort Drum. TC
  21. I was following the review of the Pontos detail set but I can't see paying twice the price of the kit for the add ons. I might be interested in brass barrels and railings but not much more. I'll rely on my modeling skills instead. TC
  22. It's looking very good indeed. Excellent work. What veggie is on the back ramp? Looks like Jersey Tomatos. Keep it coming Steve. Looks like they may be loading up prior to going outside the wire. TC
  23. The old phonic alphabet used the word "dog" for the letter D. Hence F-86D would be F-86Dog. The current one uses Delta. Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog became Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta. TC
  24. It looks great, excellent weathering. If you put any scratches on the 113 that go into the aluminum remember it doesn't rust and stays bright silver. The 113 was fun to drive with the laterals, but a b*tch to ride in. Can't wait to see it all put together. TC
