  1. LAU-10/A Zuni pod. Four rockets per pod. Usually smoke for marking targets. However, laser guided Zuni based rockets are being evaluated. Now, or least were. Historically the older rockets weren’t that reliable. I think there are five shot pods are in the works. All that said, the former are the same Zunis in one form or another that that were cleared for use any other military aircraft. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  2. This is why I buy several kits within a few months so I have what I might need years later & not have to pay eBay money. I can’t believe I still have a few original release Hasegawa T/A-4B & Cs left all these years later still needing to be built. You never know what Hasegawa & some other top rated companies will do (or not) with rereleases. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  3. Disregard. Found the answer. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  4. Well gents, I picked up a bottle of Liquidex acrylic translucent iridescent gold from Michaels & a Masters Touch acrylic 36 count .7fl oz tubes in a plethora of hues-all of which I opine I should be able to use in some form with future builds as well-from hobby lobby. If you have experience with these brands, in any capicity, good or bad, please share. Thank you. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  5. Thank you. I keep forgetting about using Future. I have what seems like a pallet of that stuff that i do use a lot but will realistically ever use all. I’ll prolly have leave to my children in my will. Thanks again. If I go this route I’ll prolly ask you yo walk me through baby steps. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  6. I’m not familiar with this stuff. I would be looking at for it at Honby Lobby tomorrow. Did you use acrylic or enamel based clear. Which color powder? Thanks. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  7. Do you have to use acrylics? I assume you one would do to ease of clean up if there was a booboo on the canopy. However, if you have the mixture you like & have tested on junk canopy could you use enamels? Reason asking is because I have many more enamels than acrylics in these metallic colors that I can thin like the nail paint which is essentially similar to what Fightng-84 used, correct? Feed me the knowledge, dudes. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  8. Out’freakin’standing! That looks very right on for a 48 scale effect on a Kinetic Prowler I’m going for. I wonder if can I get that tint here in town. We have one of those famous chain makeup stores my wife likes to go to. I just can’t recall the name. Thanks for sharing that technique, brah! I will be trying it soon. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  9. Hello! Please share your techniques for recreating the gold tinted canopy look like on the EA-6B for example. Thanks! Semper Fi, Masterguns
  10. Howdy, warriors! I yet yet again seek your wisdom. Anyone know if the ejection seats from the Aires late EA-6B prowler cockpit offerings are accurate or at least fairly accurate? I understand that the Quickboost line is part of Aires? so I’m asking about the seats with belts, too. I still have a few Black Box cockpits meant for the Revell or Monogram EA-6B. Would that set be compatible with the Kinetic kit since it’s a digital copy & improvement of the Revell kit? Please someone correct me if I’m wrong with bum intel. Sorry. I just haven’t had time to dig out all the resin &am
  11. I’m not sure if I understand your question as it is written. But l’ll try to answer based on the are quite visible with the single seat F-5E. The F-5F is a two seater & thus those boxes you refer to on the F would have to be relocated elsewhere inside the airframe. Just because they are present in these F’s you have pictured does mean they are used. Just like many other kits are released with extra parts that don’t go with said kits because they are retained in the original tools due to anticipated further realeases of a different variant. All too common with just about every modeling comp
  12. Howdy, motivaters! I’m buildIng the 1/48 Tamiya F4D-1. I remembered that I’ve had the 1/48 Monogram Promodeler kit that’s roughly 15 years old (I’m not going to finish) that has the vintage tug tractor as a bonus. Can anyone in the know about various tugs advise me if that tug would be appropriate with the 50’s-early 60’s NavaI ground support equipment for a small diorama with the Skyray? Thanks! Semper Fi, Masterguns
  13. No worries, Colin & R. Chung. Didn’t want to offend anyone. I can understand why the Canadian modelers would appreciate the special demo Hornets. I’d not even thought about so, my apologies, since we all have a hobby in common. As I look through all my Kinetic Hornets It’s quite evident that someone put some nice time/work on those sheets for an OOB build if anyone so chooses. My kit decals are usually relegated to a spares binder. Since US MIL aircraft kits are fairly common place out there, It’s fairly easy to find so many aftermarket USMC, USAF, USN decals available-especially for the w
  14. I have the CF-188A 2017 Demo Bird. Is this the kit with markings you were looking for? I just checked in the dungeon & it’s 2017. I think I might have misunderstood the comm about which demo decals are being discussed. Semper Fi, Masterguns
  15. I don't understand why folks will pay so much more for a kit with special release decals when said kit is otherwise the same doggone kit with the same plastic parts as one released in another boxing? Geniunely cuirious & not trying to slam anyone or bust your balls in a public forum. I'm legit man-to-man curious. However, I do have a kit or two of these Candian Hornets & I have no need for the decals being the plastic is all the same except for some of the kits that had the inaccurate stabs. I use aftermarket decals with all of my biulds. If anyone has another boxing of another Kinetic
  16. All I get is an answering machine. I called twice from the USA & left messages both times. I've emailed many inquiriesf about a set of decals I simply cannot find elsewhere, but no joy. However, the only time they responded by emai is when I asked them to send me a PayPal invoice so I'd know who & exactly how much to pay. Still more crickets after that. The decals I'm looking for still show instock, so I'm not sure of the details about this unit. I can't get my money back but I would like some ackowlegement from them to me as a paying customer. They won't respond. I know life happens &
  17. My condolences for your losses. I didn’t know. I hope all is well With you now. The artwork looks outstanding, however. I especially want to see the -115, 232, 252, 142 markings come to fruition. Keep us updated. Semper FI, Marine, Masterguns
  18. Disregard. Received the last set from Flightdecs. Item FOD 48-025 Marine Corps Crusaders with VMF(AW)-232, 212, 323 F-8E Crusader markings. Will pay with PayPal. I’m in the USA. Thanks! Semper Fi, Masterguns
  19. Holy thread resurrection Batman. Ha! I’m not privy to any further discussion on this the two years, Dave Roof, do you have any update on this sheet? Semper Fi, Masterguns
  20. Thanks, brah. I've been on that site many times but never knew that section existed. I have to go through a lot of the unit diaries & after action reports to find the squadrons he flew with to find him. I don't remember which one's because he wouldn't talk about everything too much. That's why I'm desparately searching for his log books.Thank would more than likely put this issue to rest. Matching the birds with what's in the unit diary would lead me to his awards & in turn give me a historical significance to model a bird he flew during which a significant event to model on of his air
  21. Thanks much, gents! I remember a conversation long ago when my dad told me when on the hot pad at Chu Lai some of the birds would have one centerline or two on the inboards to provide increased loiter time with troops in heavy contact & they didn't always know where or how long they might be needed. He was a staff puke at one time for six months & was a FAC for a short time on another tour & would volunteer to fly with whomever he could when he could get away. He's pretty well up there in age now & has much trouble remembering today much less from 50+ years ago with the early s
  22. Interrogative, warriors! Asking about the A-4E. I know some units were short of drop tanks. Specifically as it relates to a larger center drop tank (usually the larger centerline for a non-finned that I've seen) for a non-employed buddy pod Skyhawk. Was it dependent on stores weight vs. established maximum take off weight(s) for, say a relatively shourt CAS sortie? I want to build the most accurate USMC A-4E operating from Chu Lai 65-70'ish. Not sure on a specific squadron's markingse yet during a certain timeframe, but it will be for a standard A-4E or hump back A-4E (as far as I
  23. Gosh dern that’s some outstanding detail effort & dunno if outstanding is the highest compliment to use in this case. I really enjoy watching builds like this...ones that bring out as much of the 1:1 look as possible. Even with some of the more complex aircraft with what limited parts & methods that might or might not be available to us. It’s apparent you have no lack of ability or parts. This kind of work is way above my skill level, so please keep the pics & how you did such-n-such as practical / time permits, wardog! Thanks! Semper Fi, Masterguns
  24. Thanks, hard chargers- I've got the Ginter & Albright USMC A-4A/B in Active & Reserve Service on order with Amazon Prime. Should be here tomorrow. Can't wait. Good to Go! Still digging for decals
