  1. Thanks for the replys guys Hal, I can assure you, this one is blue :-). Seen it last year at Duxford and took the picture myself. No faded OD or color change in the picture her. ;-) Majortomski, Thanks for the color info. I'll forward it to my friend and he'll have to decide on the course of action. You might be right about the owners taken a liberty on the colors here. However, I was surprised about the blue when I first saw this aircraft but was informed by several people more knowledgeable then me that it indeed flew in these colors as did all aircraft from the 91st troop carrier Squadron
  2. Long time since my last post since I moved on from static model building to RC models. However I find myself back here needing some advice from the experts out there. A friend is repainting a 3.3M span DC3 and wants to finish it in the colors of the Aces High Dakota "Lima 4" 2100884 as seen in the picture below. This aircraft flew with the 91st troop carrier Squadron. As you can see this is more of a blue version then the usual OD. My question now is, can anyone shed some light on the actual colors, colorcode, reference numbers etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance DSC_

  7. Hi Joe I've buiild the Hobbycraft Cannuck a while back. Didn't give me much problems but it is a basic kit. Lacks every detail in the cockpit, in fact there hardly is a cockpit. Just a tub, two "seats" and two pilots. Landinggear is very basic also, not much detail there. I've build mine wheels up as an in flight Belgian bird. Decals in the kit are for the overall aluminum aircraft as used by the 425 Sqn and for the Belgian aircraft. However, again, very basic decals. No stenceling, just the larger markings (numbers, roundels and tailflags as wel as a striping on the engins. If you want I ca
  8. I've had a good result using Model Masters flatt white over MM Light grey primer. Thinning the white with Humbrol enamel thinners using a 60/40 ratio: 60%Paint, 40% thinner. As Swanny said, white is definetely the most difficult color to spray and you need to go verry slow. Spray verry thin layers of white, gradually building up to the desired effect. I 've had to spray about 6 coats on the Draken. Offcours you need to spray verry thin in that case or you'll get a too thick coat of paint. HTH greetings Patrick
