  1. I have two groups of kits for sale. I would like to sell each of them as a lot. For now, I'm going to limit this to US buyers only. I'm in Southern California at zip 92780 if you want to estimate shipping. Note that I will only ship USPS Priority Mail. Condition codes: FSW -> factory shrink wrap, FS -> factory sealed without shrink wrap, OB/SB -> open box, sealed bags All kits complete unless otherwise stated. Allied 1/72 kits Airfix A02034 Douglas TBD-1 Devastator - OB/SB Airfix A02041 Hawker Typhoon Ib - FS Airfix A01004 North American P-51D Mustang - FS Smer 0890 Hawker H
  2. If you count kits and aftermarket, I would make that list. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. :D Stacey
  3. In case anyone else comes across this thread and needs them, here they are in PDF format: P-40E instructions P-40F/L instructions Stacey
  4. I've got both. I'll try to email you PDF's tomorrow. Stacey

    Great Wall kits

I should have been a bit more precise. By "replicating", I meant choosing the same subjects. I'm not familiar with the MiG-20 or the F-15 though.

    Great Wall kits

I had a thought. Since Great Wall has produced a Devastator and Black Widow, what are the odds they will produce a Kingfisher? They seem to be replicating old Monogram kits. Just something that occurred to me.
  7. A tip I read in a post from Huey Gunner: always use more thinner than paint when airbrushing. Stacey
  8. Just a note: if you're looking for Kolinsky brushes in the US, I saw this notice on the Dick Blick site: Kolinsky Sable Brush Shortage Due to regulatory issues regarding the importation of Kolinsky hair, we are temporarily out of stock on many of our more popular brush styles. Be assured that we are working with our vendors and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remedy this situation as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience. I don't know if that page is the exact type of brush denstore was referring to, but Dick Blick is out of stock of all of them. Stacey
  9. I have not tried it yet, but in this review on Modeling Madness, Tom Cleaver suggests Lumiere paint, an artist acrylic, as a replacement for the Talon paint. In my experience, artist acrylics don't stick to plastic very well, so you would want to prime with something. I have a bottle of the Lumiere, and it does seem to be finely grained. I also have a bottle of Golden Fluid Acrylics silver, and it is also finely grained. Like Mike C, I have found the Tamiya acrylics to be rather grainy. HTH Stacey
  10. I've had good results flattening Future with Tamiya Flat Base. Note that this is not the same thing as Tamiya Flat Clear. Tamiya Flat Base comes in the same 10 ml and 23 ml jars that the acrylics come in. As mentioned by G_Marcat_Italy, Swanny's Guid to Future has excellent advice. Stacey
  11. I just noticed that all the kits they've built are better than what I do now. That's depressing...
  12. You've got Miranda Kerr in progress??!! I'm impressed! :D/>
  13. Thanks for the post. Looks interesting.
  14. Bingo. Someone made the same observation on Hyperscale. Also, as Brett Green pointed out in an interview, there may not be many 10 year olds joining the hobby, but there may be 30-somethings joining. So just because children aren't joining the hobby doesn't mean it doesn't have a future. I didn't like Brussels sprouts until I tried them. Now I do like them. Ditto for asparagus. Broccoli and cauliflower, on the other hand, are just plain vile. :D Stacey
  15. Incredible work. Congrats on the first of many exhibitions.
  16. On The Closer, Commander Taylor had several die-cast planes in his office - mostly props, I think.
  17. There was an episode of Samantha Who? where her dad had a Testor's P-47D on the kitchen table.
  18. Exhausted has a good point - how about the HobbyBoss easy-assembly kits? They do a variety of subjects, and are inexpensive.
  19. Thanks. The website appears to be broken right now.
