  1. checking on a clear sprue for the same kit for someone else, I will check on the nose strut as well for you. Do you need the nose wheel also? Chuck
  2. and thank you Gianni

  3. I built the Marine variant of the Italeri kit, probably similar other than the scheme. Older mold but not difficult. Details are not Hasegawa but still for the time not bad. The fit is fair and with some filler to clean up the seams on the fuselage. The clear is a little thick with the canopy frame raised a little much, though it helps when it is time to mask them for painting. Remembering how long ago it has been when I built it. LOooong before I started taking images during my builds. And when digital cameras were just coming into vogue. So it would be around 1993 when I built it. I
  4. Getting around some rebuilds that suffered damage on the move from storage to the house. Settled now after a couple of years. This forum has been amazing in locating some lost pieces in the past. And thanks to those who have been kind enough to help. And also help others here as well as I have quite a decent salvage parts box. Today I'm now looking for the following to repair and replace. 1st off, Pro Modelers BF-110 G4, RH main gear strut and related pieces, landing gear doors for both LH/RH mains. Pretty much believe any Monogram/Revell BF-110 will work in 48th scale. 2nd, Hasagawa 1
  5. May have the clear sprue for this kit, started it many years ago, will not finish it. Most likely get another kit to build. It is packed with some other kits in a box in the garage. I throw nothing away that may come in handy in the future. Chuck Fly Navy
  6. Steve can't really add more to what has been already said for your act of kindness. Other than way to go man way to go! Being a man of faith myself, but to keep the religious part as to keep offending anyone, it is what the man upstairs just smiles down on such acts of fellow humans helping others in their needs without any thought, just do it. God bless you Steve and Angel for her life is as precious as our own children and the children of the world. What a wonderful testimony of a selfless act in a world that can be so selfish. Thank you for that blessing and hope that truly outweighs th
  7. Thanks for the lead. Will give it a shot. As I have actually a couple of Hase 18's needing the clear sprues. Chuck Fly Navy
  8. Another one of those mystery disappearances, fallen out of the box whatever it's gone. So if anyone can spare the clear sprue for a Hase 72nd Hornet, kit #Dt-10. Willing to buy or trade if possible. Thanks in advance Chuck Fly Navy
  9. Looks like the majority of us have various projects in different stages of progress. With work and busy weekend schedules along with life cuts into our build time. With several projects going at different stages. Some as old as 10 years, ok only one project that old. But not only ongoing projects but those that need to be repaired that are worth repairing. With the last big move to my current residence, some of my important builds to me got damaged after the move. With my builtup models and kits in storage for almost 3 years it was good to have them under one roof again. So little by li
  10. Amazing!!!, just jumps right out at you when you click on the link. Beautiful print of a moment in time after release of the "Barnes Wallis" bouncing bomb as it clears the dam. This beats the B-1 image w/the rooster tails as it jets right above the sea print. Chuck Fly Navy
  11. Welcome back Mitch, good to see ya back in the forums. Can't help you with that photo but hopefully someone can. Happy New Year to you and the family. Chuck Fly Navy
  12. I couldn't find any Hobby Shops that I know of here in So. Cal that may carry them. I do not know of any in Central California or the San Joaquin Valley. I got my set from a vendor on Ebay. Shops name is Scott's Model Workshop and I believe his shop is here in California after all going back in looking at his Ebay Store. Huge inventory of decals to sort through. Some I didn't know were made. Here is a link of a Lifelike decal sheet I have never seen before, which has 3 Tony's (3 of the 8 subjects, there may be more) My link see if that works for you. If not browse the site it really h
  13. Best gift ever and forever. Amen, That I received as well and a Hobby Boss 1/48th Demon. Chuck Fly Navy
  14. Paolo is correct on the available sheets. I have the Techmod set for the Hien. The neat part it also comes with a masking set for the wheels, canopy and flying surfaces. The Aeromaster sheet may be hard to find. The other 2 sets not too bad. Chuck Fly Navy

    Camo question

Let me check a set of Aeromaster B-26K decal set I have, it may have the top/LH/RH side views. Yes looking at 48-338, it has all 3 views of the camo pattern used on the Counter Invader. Chuck Fly Navy
  16. Excellent subjects for the P-38. Don't know if in the future anything planned for the P-38E which I have not been able to find any decals in 48th scale. Have the Academy kit sitting in the stash but cannot find any decals for this. Thanks Chuck Fly Navy
  17. You will need to use Mineral Spirits to apply Xtracolor paints. The Ace Hardware store should have this. In the paint thinner section of the store. Xtracolor is an excellent brand, but it will dry to a glossy finish. Which eliminates the clear coat step. Very kind when applied with an airbrush. I love using the few colors I have as they are quite difficult to get even here in the U.S. Chuck Fly Navy
  18. Thanks Steve, yes a challenging paint scheme, but a fun build when it was said and done. Just one of those pleasant builds, what makes this hobby so fulfilling. An interesting unique aircraft. A design in the Italian point of view that really worked for them. A nice sleek very capable fighter that held it's own in the right hands. Glad they weren't enough of them around that would've made a difference. Chuck Fly Navy
  19. Finally with a new cable for the camera to upload images to the PC is here. I can now show the final finish on the Veltro. First replacing the national flag decals on each side of the fuselage. Tricky process but success. I was not paying attention when applying them the first time around. It's now corrected. Definitely a smooth and not so intense build. An interesting subject that was a pleasure to build. It wasn't so hard to put the spiral on the nose. Just patience is all that was required. The opportunity to paint this scheme builds some confidence into doing more
  20. Update soon Istvan, technical problems with uploading the latest images. Hopefully with new equipment arriving this week. I can get them up this weekend. Thanks for the inquiry. Merry Christmas Chuck Fly Navy
  21. Nicely done Mirage 2000. Nice touch with the actual image of the Mirage in flight. You pretty much captured the look of a bird operating away from home. Been contemplating building the old Monogram Mirage 2000C with the Excocet. Always liked the look of the Mirages C & D variant and the F1. Just rounding up some info on the C, (won't use the Excocet on the French Mirage) for a Desert Storm or Operation Daguet Mirage 2000C as it appeared in Jan. 1991. Very Inspirational. Chuck Fly Navy
  22. With the decal process completed. Using Pactra Flat Clear acrylic, which works well, close to the finish I used to get with Polly S Flat Clear. Set it aside overnight. In the meantime it was time to work on the final detail bits starting with the landing gear. Using Aeromaster RLM 02 for the struts and links. Testor's silver for the oleos and retractor arms. And using for the 1st time Gunze Tire Black for the tires. Good color to simulate rubber on WWII era aircraft in my opinion. Finally ran out of the old tire black from Aeromaster. Which that supply is quickly dwindling. The Gunze p
  23. Thank you Jman, welcome back by the way. Chuck Fly Navy
  24. You know your right, gosh I thought I took them right off the sheet facing the right direction. Well I have an extra set of flags and will correct this. Just spot the future at the 4 points they are placed. Nice catch Clioguy. Thanks for pointing that out. Don't want to offend anyone's national flag and place it upside down. Chuck Fly Navy
  25. Finally time to decal the Veltro. After adding some exhaust streaks along each side of the fuselage right above the wingroots. We start with the national isignias under each wing. In black and already botched one not setting it properly, the RH lower is a little crooked. Simple step only these 2 decals to place. Next the top. Using the Microset decal system, hot water, Aeroset, place, dab, set and then some Aerosol to complete the process. A little more work on the top set of decals, thank God very few stencils. Not so intense, about 3 hours to do the decal step for this. Wi
