  1. Although this particular kit may not have any, believe it or not, my favorite part of modelling is decaling! I love painting, as it brings it all together but the decaling is what makes the model come alive. (I usually build aircraft models, by the way...)
  2. Once the light grey is sprayed, the details are going to pop big-time, especially with that black undercoat. Can't wait to see it.
  3. Thank you for posting, Gregg. You're the one keeping this thread alive and I, for one, appreciate your pics. Keep 'em coming! P.S. The carrier photos, in particular the ones showing deck are fantastic references for modern carrier modelers. I've been saving just about all of them for reference.
  4. The detailing is mindboggling. Glad to see you updating again!
  5. Those are some fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing.
  6. Seldom do I trash a kit, and even then, I try to keep the parts that came out well, for another attempt with a new kit. My last frustrating disaster of a kit was the Dragon 1/72 scaled Saturn V, which fought me throughout the build. I had even added 3D printed parts to supplement the lack of detailing and eventually it just kicked my butt. I ended up stripping the 3D parts off and reused them in a new Saturn V. This time all went fairly well, as I knew what to expect. Here is a quick pic of it, about 95% completed:
  7. I remember a few years ago researching the two and ended up going with the Hobby Boss one.
  8. Great build. As mentioned previously, I love the unique scheme.
  9. Simply amazing. Definitely following this build. Wow...
  10. I will definitely wait for your decal set!
  11. Hopefully those markings are included.
  12. You've captured those sections perfectly. I remember the lighting being warm white and not the cool/blue white of most modern LEDs. Excellent job.
  13. Amazing detailing on the sidewalls. Glad to see you back on the project.
  14. Been away from the boards for a bit and missed out on the first deal. Looking forward to the next one!
  15. Fantastic build and finish! Great photography, too.
  16. What I find amazing is that if I didn't know the scale of the base model, it wouldn't surprise me if you were to say this was a twelve foot model. The detailing is so intricate and well done.
  17. Good thing that you have this build log saved here, showing all of the work that has gone into this amazing build.
