  1. Hi Raymond, The lengthened tailpipe did indeed help to protect against IR-guided SAM, mostly by making the missile explode farther from the heart of the engine, but it was a side-effect, and not designed at first for this purpose. It was just there because J52 was longer than the original ATAR. During 1973 october war, IAF seeing that in a similar situation, when targeted and hit by an IR missile, an SMB2 was coming back but à skyhawk was shot down, the same modification was made to the A-4.
  2. Very nice !I might be interested if it does include subjects not already covered by Furball. There is room for Vietnam era USN F-4s, I think.
  3. Hi, Any links for that? I'm interested, but google gives nearly nothing...
  4. The same article was published in French about seven or eight years ago

  6. Thanks for all those informations and links. That's just fantastic.
  7. Indeed! In fact, it was specific to Mirage IV pilots IFR training.
  8. No surprise, SuE/SEM is a Dassault aircraft.
  9. Same thing here, that's an old aircraft A pilot told me that due to the pit's size, you "slip on" the aircraft, rather than boarding it.Also, when the modernisation started, it saw at least five different stage, so no surprise that the cockpit became a little bit cramped.
  10. I'll try to find some and come back to post them here, just give me some time.I think you can count on Syhart to put this on some decal sheets. I noticed that too, and explained this at first with the timing, but I'm not too sure. After all, it's a 40 years old Warrior, still launched with the cable system.
  11. I'm thinking first about Tamiya's Meteor, any mark.
  12. Done! (not really happy with this one....) A small scale submarine is also a good choice.
  13. Found also this one...... Tamiya 1/48. As you can see, choice of the model is important. With a floatplane, you don't have to mess with a landing gear, saving time. Very important also is the planning. There's no place for hesitations. I've even had an excel made for the countdown. Not so sure, but this might be the last
  14. One day? That's also 24h00, and if that count, I did it a few time. One to two hours a day, over fifteen days.
  15. Thanks... But I'd really like to meet the guy, just to ask him: Why?
  16. I saw this happen when I was living in Taipei.A bit different with a funny side. One of my favourite LHS did host once a month a meeting for a small group of modellers that I've joined, in a little side room with shelves, where we exposed finished model (I left there my whole Taiwanese production). One day I saw that one of my models was missing, so I asked Andy (shop manager), thinking he just put it elsewhere. He didn't, and started to check the video at once.I came back latter, and a still of the guy from the video was already on every walls, and word passed to other shops via the modellers
  17. I would say Eduard, but hasegawa and tamiya stay as good options.
  18. Yes, Larry.Didn't really understood why Kinetic released this pack aside the kit, together with some weapons. In the past, they used to release their kits with plenty of weapons of all sort.I'm pretty confident that AMK will give us everything needed for a nice SUE/SEM in one shot.
  19. Bring on the Old Warrior, I'll get at least two boxes.
  20. The original instruction sheet isn't in a better shape anyway....
  21. Yes, there are reasons to think that this one is in fact 160385, which was written off in an accident on 26 may 1981 (Crash of an EA-6B during a night recovery). It was then replaced by 160390 AJ207 from VF-84. Check Home of MATS.
