Nice collection of images. I also shot the eclipse in Port Aransas and captured the ring of fire.

    What's your opinion of the 5DS R ?

Thanks Habu. About the 5DSR, it's a 50 megapixel beast which produces some stunning detail rich images. I have notice it tends to vignette with slower glass.

    Cheers,

    Steven

  2. From the numerous years I’ve been relentlessly capturing images, I’ve never had such an elevated level of anticipation for sharing a collection of photos like the ones from this year.

Thanks for posting your photos! I’d love to see the Me 262 fly! I guess their F-4D and F-100F didn’t fly this year?

    Ben

Your welcome. Unfortunately, the rest of the Colling Foundation birds were on static display.

  4. It’s been seven years since I’ve been to Yankee Air Museum annual event, Thunder over Michigan. And this year was great year to return. All the familiar sights and sounds of vintage aircraft coming to life and soaring above Willow Run airport.

Interesting perspective, I had no idea FAA allowed such access.

Star Helicopters is the only private flight operation allowed to offer photo flights over the restricted airspace above LAX. We had to inform LAX tower 24 hours prior to our photo flights as well get permission to enter and exit the air space above LAX.

I think Beo showed everyone else up with her low speed pass.

She flies the 35 like she stole it!

For some reason I'm drawn to the photo with the Grumman E-2s radome mount and the people looking up at wing and engine details.

That shot was one of favorites. I like it for the sense of scale and the implied line of the one female crew member looking up along with the arrow-like support legs of the radome.
