  1. I believe the you are correct. What they did in the film was paint over the "A" so it was "VF -213" with a clear gap between the "F" and "-". So to be accurate you should paint over the decal. :) If it really bothers you I'll make up one sometime latter, 2 weeks or so.
  2. Over the years I've had lots of requests for the Top Gun decals I put together with the help of many other forum members. I will free send the pdf files so that you may print them up for your own personal use. Feel free to share them with others. I do not own the copy write and neither do you so please don't sell them. Please send me images of your finished model. I love to see them. Files are for 1/32 1/48 and 1/72 F-14 Tomcat. I've had so many requests for the decals I can't keep up so I've posted them on my website. You can download the files here: Top Gun Decals
  3. I've been a gone a long time but I still have the files. Is anyone would like them just shoot me an email. Other are free to give them out but I'd like to see images of the finished models. jared@bishopart.com
  4. I need the top view portion of a painting guide for an F/A-18 single seat non super hornet. I'm looking for a good resolution image. I need to be able to see the panel lines for atop view line drawing.
  5. Ok so I got some crude images to work with and here is the base. I still need to find more precise plans to measure the size and position of all the flight deck lines. If anyone has good measurement please let me know. The base will 28" x 21"
  6. Well it's still slow going. I did decide that I will be building a LHD base. Does anyone have any plans for a LHD so I can create one. I know there is a 1/700 model of an LHD.
  7. I picked up the Academy CH-53E. I'm trying to decide how to build it. I remember seeing a picture that had the all the blades tied down but not folded in, they were fully extended. The tail was also not folded. Some were in my crazy world I think I have room for the model. Does anyone have any reference or idea if the CH-53E would ever be tied down to a carrier deck with the rotors extended or would it only be on land? Also if I do tie the rotors down while they are extended would be normal to see various maintenance panels open? I'd just hate to do all this work and some one say yeah
  8. Well here is a little video I shot on Memorial Day of and Apache taking off and strafing a crowed. It is a raw video so there is a few minutes of pre preflight stuff that's not too interesting. http://www.bishopart.com/helicopter.mov
  9. I need help with FS to Tamiya paint conversion. The Two I need soonest are: FS36320 FS36375 These are the top and bottom colors used for the VFA-103 Jolly Rogers low vis
  10. The nose it not glued yet but I can see that if I glue in together properly there won't be too much sanding to do. The photo's look worse than it really is. Does anyone have a hard mount schematic that shows what armorments can go where?
  11. So I got this for Christmas. Here is a test fit of some parts. All in all I'm pleased with the level of detail. The only two complaints I have so far are gaps in the nose that need to sanded and filled. And the intakes. If anyone know of an after market intakes please let me know. Side note: I've been using Tamiya paint and I just started using Tamiya Paint thinner and it works great. It has the same fine texture as oil paints do with less smell and mess.
  12. oldHooker: I used Illustrator so it is all Vector based. It makes it easer to scale to size I need it. The aircraft and patch are just jpgs but I'll be illustrating them latter. GEH737: I will be selling prints. The carrier only prints will be about 40"x13" and should be done in the next month or so. When I get the aircraft done I'll do another one about 40"x30" or so. If there a specific size you need I'm sure we can work something out. Oh and the font is not what will be used. I just threw that in there. I do think the copy is all done. I've been getting conflicting reports on wh
  13. So I actually finished the carrier. I still want to adjust some of the landing lines a bit. I think the white stands out a bit too much. These are scaled down to 25% of what they will be when printed. _________________________________________________________________________ The second images has the the aircraft used and a lot of other fluff. I may not include them.
  14. I'm starting to gather research for a 1/32 SR-71 Does anyone have any accurate drawings? I'm in Utah and there is the SR-71C at Hill AFB. So I've taken some picture there. Does anyone know if there are any changes in the SR-71C? Other that the obvious raised back seat.
  15. Oh your right I yeah I forgot about the Air Force. I've seen some Army guys in them, They must have hitched a ride with the Air Force.
