  1. Remember our last phone conversation. If you need anything, just let me know Bro. John
  2. Hey Steve, Hope you had a wonderful holiday. I have the STAT MedEvac artwork I did for myself for a 1/32 EC-135. I pinted off a set for myself. Let me know what aircraft you would like to do and I can modify the artwork. Drop me an email. I am familiar with Linded Hill. That may be my only route. I was hoping to get some decals rescaled for one of my desktop models. Thanks John
  3. Hi Everett, Thanks for the reply. I actually have some old, official, desktop display models from the 80's I obtained from a company that went out of business in my town and would like to do a series of Marine One of the VH-3, VH-53 and VH-46. They are all 1/40th scale. I would be interested in your decals. Drop me a PM or email at johneagle777@yahoo.com Let me know what you want for them? Kind regards, John
  4. O.k. I found the others. Hawkeye Models makes the others 1/48 decals for the VH-3 and CH-53E. I need 53D. http://www.hawkeyemodels.com.au/pop-up-pages/USP-02.htm http://www.hawkeyemodels.com.au/pop-up-pages/USP-04.htm Is there one available for the CH-46? Does anyone happen to have any spare decals of the CH-53D or VH-3 they don't want? TIA. John
  5. What I hate is when I've found something before on the internet, forgot to bookmark it and now can't find it again. ;) I found the Model Alliance Marine One decals in 1/48th. That's fine. However, I could have sworn there was another decal outfit that had 1/48 scale decals for all three, the VH-3, CH-53D and CH-46 in 1/48th. Can anyone help? TIA John
  6. Everyone, Thanks for the kind words. Gertjan Never heard anything regarding shortening the tail fin. The only thing I know of with the earlier kits is the lower tail fin needs to be bigger and the v-stabilisers need to be replaced with larger ones. The kits I've managed to obtain are the ADAC EC-135s. Having a molding background myself, I am always examining the parts. Big difference as to who was molding at the time or when it was molded during a production run. (start, middle, end.). Flash, warpage, flowlines, britllness; big difference between the two kits I'm building. The one is a
  7. Is Whirlybird Decals still around? Do they have a web page? I've emailed him and have had no responce. Not sure if email is current. Thanks John
  8. Here's the BK and EC I did for a medic. The WSPS', external oxygon and decals were all scratch. Cheers John
  9. N117M used to belong to Med Flight of Ohio. Clearly being used as an Omni Flight Helicopters backup ship. I beleive Med Flight is using one BK-117 now (#5). The remaining fleet are EC-135s and a couple 350 Astars. Here's a model I did as Med Flight #5 N117MH is the old Methodist Hospitals Life Line BK from Indianaplois, IN. Sweet paint job! Cheers John
  10. Hey Gang, I'm working on 3 models depicting the generations of Med Flight 1. I'm doing 1x 1/32 BK-117 (old ship) and 2x 1/32 EC-135s in the old and current paint scheme. I'm using various photos for reference. Here are some pictures of the interior of the EC-135. I had to scratch build the following -Stretcher cushon (Made from balsa) -Added railing to the stretcher. (Used styrene scrap) -Seat Cushons (Made from balsa stock) -Belts and starps. (Made from medical tape and styrene scrap) -various equipment and accesories. (Pouches are from Balsa stock, Overhead console from stryene

  12. I'm looking into some decals for some of my desk models I obtained. I sure miss the variety of the Microscale Decals. They had everything. It seems they no long print anything helicopter related. I have found MAW decals and Wolfpak. Of course I know your friend and mine. FIREBALL!!! Who else is out there? I'm looking for 1/48th CH-53 and HH-53 CH-46 VH-3 1/32nd UH-1D, UH-1N Thanks in advance. John
  13. Hey guys, This is something new I have to look into. Looks great! Never would have know it was a soft metal foil. Thanks again! John
  14. The dry brush technique worked very well! I forgot I had an extra Revell OH6A panel to practice on. It didn't take long to get the feel of things. Since the Hughes 500-C panel doesn'e have a lot of detail, the results were awsome and I'm thrilled! Thanks guys for the help. Now to go out and pick up some future to gloss the gauges. The upcoming Revell BO-105 and Jet Ranger is going to be a fun! Thanks again John
  15. Hey Gang, I'm looking for the following helicopter kits. The list is kind of a big but I won't be able to obtain all at one time. I'm putting the list out there to pick and choose from replies. Thanks in advance! I've managed to have some luck, I mean real good luck on getting some kits. But I am still looking for the following. UPDATED 10-26-11 1/48 Scale Fujimi Alouette III Heller Alouette III Heller Alouette II Heller Gazelle Heller 315B lama Heller 360/365 Dauphin 1/32 and 1/35th Scale Revell Alouette II DML 500D Defender or Little Bird (One in the works) Would like anot
  16. :) WOE! I have a Revell Hughes OH-6A I'm in the middle of converting to a 500-C and was not happy with the panel. Now is my oportunity to put the dry brushing to the test. Thanks to all for the help! This is going to be fun! John (Always praying for our brothers and sisters serving our country.)
  17. Hey Arty, So good to hear from you. You've been one of my sources of inhancing my techniques ever sine I got back into modeling. I LOVE YOUR WORK!!! You pictures are awsome. Exactly what I'm talking about. I have some up coming projects so I will put the dry brush technique to the test. It just so happens I have some 3-0 and 10-0 brushes. Thanks for the help! : Hope you're back state side with the family. Thank you for your service brother. salute: A Merry Christmas to you and yours. All the best for the New year. Kind regards always John
  18. O.k. Here's one I need help on. How on earth do you guys hi-light your control gauges and paint the detailing. I see this mostly in the 1/32 and 1/35th kits. Common with the old Revells (OH-6, 206, UH-D, BO-105). -Outter frame gauge hi-lighted -dials and readings. -Buttons aren't to bad of a problem as long as they or projected up off the surface. Flush surfaces I use the end of a twist tie wire and a thined paint and carefully dot my desired buttons. -I know to gloss cote the gages to give the glass appearance when finished. Anyone care to share your pictures & techniques? Mor
  19. Hey Gang, Here we go. A pinned topic. I will follow with more topics. I'm looking to update and improve my scratchg building techniques. The way I do it looks good, it's o.k. and it works. But I've seen some real impressive interiors. The pictures are great but not much info on "how to" and "what materials". I use medical cloth tape. I'll paint wash it in a flat color (black, brown, grey, etc.) and cut to width and length. My fasteners I use twist tie wire (bend to shape) and the buckles I use styrene scrap or balsa scrap. It's simple. Sorry, I have no pictures avalable....yet.
  20. Hey Gang, I would like to see a forum section on scratch building interiors. I've been doing more scratch building myself since I love doing air medical helicopters. Would like to see more pictures and dicussion of "how to" and what materials you use. Sometimes I pick up new "add on" techniuques from others which makes model buiding more fun. This would also include techniques in fine paint detailing. Exp. button and gauge paint detailing. Just a thought. What do you think? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! John (The civilian guy) http://www.airmedicalpost.bravehost.com/
  21. Oliver, I sent you a PM over the weekend. John

  23. Nothing yet. I have a couple leads but no reply back. Merry Christmas John
  24. Boy I sure miss that kit. I wish they would bring that back out. I've seen the Army Huey in a combo trio kit that's currently out at the local Drug Mart store. The good old days! As for the scale, I beleive the Jet Ranger was in 1/48th? John
  25. Woo-hoo!!! Boo-Yah!!! They finally took my advice!! I'm looking forward to it!
