  1. My latest completed build - a Canadian Chinook - is now over in the 'Display Case': CH-147F Chinook - 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, CAF, 2017 - Revell 1/72 *If you know, you know!
  2. Over the years, I've amassed a number of Chinook kits - an elderly Matchbox one picked up cheap at a model show long ago, as it had a couple of damaged and missing transparencies; an original-issue Italeri CH-47 (HC.1) received as a magazine review kit, but not built as we could never include every kit supplied to us; three Airfix reboxings of the Italeri kit, one a cheap eBay purchase, the other two coming as parts of 'job lots'; an ACH-47A also acquired in a 'job lot'; and, obtained separately in similar fashion, two Revell boxings of the MH-47E. Whilst one of the Revell kits was
  3. There's a fairly comprehensive breakdown of the different variants here: https://www.armouredcarriers.com/grumman-f4f-martlet-variants Meanwhile, there's a lengthy discussion on the various differences here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235115414-all-the-wildcatmartlet-questions-you-wanted-to-ask/
  4. Because Squadron Leader A. J. N. "Tony" Alcock - the nephew of Sir John Alcock, who made the original crossing - was a serving Phantom pilot, and there was a suitably-named navigator, Flight Lieutenant W. N. "Norman" Browne...
  5. Hasegawa provided the scheme in this kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-ch9-british-phantom-fgr2-transatlantic-alcock-and-brown--154416 CAM Decals did a sheet: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/cam-48081-british-phantom-fgr2-alcock-and-brown--931127#
  6. I came, I saw spam, I left... ....I returned later, the spam had gone... ....thanks, phantom and eraucubsfan! 👍
  7. Fairly certain that those markings aren't painted, but are actually decals - look at the 'leg' of the R, and you can see the intact 'bulge' over the rivet head there, whereas most of the others have broken through, hence the underneath colour being visible around some... ....both roundels in the preceding pics exhibit some 'flaking' at their edges where rivet heads are present, whilst the close-up shot show a brighter yellow ring on the outside edge, similar to the whiter edges of the lettering...
  8. As the decals have only been done in 1/48, the Italeri kit's availability is academic, really... ....unless there are plans to scale the sheet down at some point, @doupnik?
  9. You're thinking RepliModel, @Dutch- sheets 100, 101 and 102:
  10. The link in this similar post (in the Research section) went to a page with the prices displayed in GBP...
  11. My NAF Mildenhall UC-12M shots say no, they're not - though both props are 'feathered' when parked, they do appear the same:
  12. A few more I found (all enlargeable) - this one's not any better than the first I posted, but it's from another angle, at least: Whilst these might help with shape. size and spacing of the attachment points, along with the flare chutes inbetween in the lower section:
  13. Thanks for the heads-up, Dutch - I've just viewed my profile settings and made 'blanket' changes there accordingly... ....I never realised that was there until now, and had been setting the preferences at top of each thread I posted in! 🤦‍♂️
  14. Anyone else having an issue with 'Follow' preferences changing? A few times recently, after posting in threads and setting the preferences to 'do not send' for notifications, when I've subsequently posted again in the same threads, that setting has reverted to the default 'Send me an email' - it's just done the same again today, when I added a new post to a thread I've been participating in...
  15. You beat me to it by seconds, Dutch - just remembered I have the original Aviation News 'Warpaint' Series Monograph on the C-130, which contains the same plans, and yes, side, front and plan scrap views showing the Fulton nose and dorsal radome, but nothing other than a 'plain' ramp in the general rear view drawing... ....none of the photos show the ODS rails either - they appear to be evident in a couple of side shots, but that's all...
  16. That might work depending, as you say, on size - I think that I have a few suitable items in the spares box to use for mine... ....front sections of 'hedgehog' exhaust stacks from Halifax or Beaufighter kits which will just require some reshaping and drilling out, I hope!
  17. The Aeroclub C-12 wheels measure 7mm, Dutch, so the 7.5mm ones would be close enough for government work - and no, the set only has undercarriage and props, no exhausts... ....returning to wheels sizes, not all Super King Air wheels are the same - look again at your photo above, and you'll see that the four 'mainwheels' are smaller than the nose one, and no, it's not perspective! For your intended USN/USMC subject, all the same size will be correct, as evidenced below - I believe Navy and Marine aircraft always had that arrangement. But for some others, such as the first USAF example
  18. You might well be onto something there, Dutch - I just compared/measured my Aeroclub C-12 props against those in the Airfix OV-10 Bronco, and they match both in spinner size (18" base diameter x 18" length) and overall diameter (48" spinner centre to blade tip)... ....the only thing I'm not sure about with that QB set is the spinner shape, which appears a little 'fat', whereas the C-12's looks a slimmer 'pointy' cone...
  19. Bear in mind that as the Flightpath set is for Westland versions, the tail fold detail lacks the large central actuating arm and all the associated plumbing for the powered folding system on the CH-124...
  20. Kit review with parts photos here, Dutch: https://ipmsdeutschland.de/archiv/FirstLook/Revell/Rev_F-104G_Starfighter/Rev_Lockheed_F-104G_Starfighter.html
