  1. Hi pepap, Awesome ! How did you do this mi-171 ? Is it a home made conversion ? Is it aftermarket ? Is it available anywhere ? I'd really like to build a mi-171 in 1/35. What about the decals ? Amazing ! Really. Congrats. Best regards, Richard
  2. Hi, That is really well done ! Longing for next up ! Keep it up !!! Regs, Richard
  3. Hi John, You're doing a fantastic job ! I really love the paint job. It turns out soooooooo great ! Congrats dude ! The landing gear fairings are also outstanding AWA the pylons and exhaust suppressors, tho' these latter are a bit disapointing cuz of what you've pointed out. I am looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful Hip. Keep it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regs, Richard
  4. John, The Mi-8 in Afghanistan often sported them flare dispensers sideward. You got some very nice pics in the first posts of this thread, which seems to be so cool !!!!! http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_15883.html Richard
  5. Hi John, I do agree with Oliver, you're doin a fantastic job ! Brilliant. Regs Richard

  7. Hi John, Your build progress's freakin awesome !!!! Top notch ! Regs, Richard
  8. These look real fine ! Nice progress Richard
  9. Hi John, You're right, the first pic shows a late style 'tank' and was shot during the conflict. Good news No need of a surgery plan then, the kit's Ok the way it is. I look forward to seeing your progress. Regards, Richard
  10. nice vid John ! You're right, the comfortable red armchair looks so cool ! BTW, you got a beginning of an answer on how to deal with the 'tank' size, on ARC forum. That was done with HB 1/72 Hip, which basically is scale reduced from Trump's 1/35 : http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....71613&st=20 The recessed part of the tank was not corrected though. Regards, Richard
  11. Hi John, Really good so far. One ad, pay attention to the external side 'tanks' when you reach this step. During the afghan conflict the Mi-8 sported the early style tanks, meaning they were smaller. The Trumpeter kit has the late style 'tanks', these will have to be reduced both in length and width. There are 4 straps on the kit tanks, the afghan choppers had only 3. And finally, the recessed part of the tanks, where the gear strut goes, has to be far less deep than on the kit... See on the Begemot decal sheet notice, the right ones used in afghan conflict are depicted. My 2 cents (cos I
  12. Hi John, Well it looks the part Keep it up ! Richard
  13. Hey John, Great build there ! Will follow that one closely. Regards, Richard
  14. Hi Gents, Thanx very much for the information ! The minute after I read your post, the racks were ordered Looking forward to gettin'em. Great ! I've had a look at your topic, and will watch closely ! So now I have to make up my mind... which version will I build ??? Either the Mi-171SH with the racks I just ordered, or the other one I also like very much, The Royal Air Force Curium program Mi-17, intended to teach afghan pilots how to fly the Hip, she got lovely colours ! Wait'n C Thank you so much for the goon news and help. Cheers ! Richard
