  1. Absolutely not. We've been down this road once before on ARC. It did not end well. The brief, short lived current affairs/politics forum was an unmitigated disaster. I'd vote we learn from history and not make the same mistake twice. As for a reduced post count from the OP, I'd have to ask, if you're not here to talk aviation and models, then why are you here? It's not "Politics Resource Center." A solid "no."
  2. Looks like TwoBobs version of the sheet is completed in 1/48, and has been sent off to the printers about a week ago. 1/32 and 1/72 are to follow shortly, per his latest posts. It'll be nice that this includes a proper set of weapons stencils for a SEAD bird loadout as well:
  3. TwoBobs just announced on their FB page that they're doing these markings in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/32 scales.
  4. MarkW - Peace? You don't get to say, "peace," and then continue to insult me. Hit a nerve? You go out of your way to hit a nerve, or at the very least, to be as disparaging of "my type of blue suiter" as frequently as possible. I don't spend my time finding ways to insult the acquisitions or engineer career fields, or whatever the hell field it is you like to vaguely hint at carrying a level of expertise. I don't go around calling Lockheed Martin a "jobs program for socially challenged autistics," yet that's EXACTLY what you referred to the USAF fighter pilot corps as. Your claims to e
  5. You have no idea what you're talking about. Taking down double-digit SAMs is a tactical task F-22s have been practicing for YEARS now. The tactics have been practiced, refined, and validated many times over. Hell, I flew in the first series of TDEs designed specifically for this exact DEAD mission back in 2005/2006. The capabilities of Inc3.1 greatly enhanced this capability, and make the Raptor very, very capable in this realm. While it still has no EO/IR ground targeting options, the SAR map capabilities of the F-22 give it a very, very credible air-to-ground employment option for the d
  6. Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not certain why you feel the need to continually delve into personal insults. Returning to Aaron's outburst, I'd offer you the same advice. You can't be responsible for someone else's actions, only your own. I merely came into this discussion to offer some alternate references, since Modelers can never have too many refs, as has been established many times. Also, since this particular reference has been delayed. Maybe there'll be a Modern Nightstalkers Guide soon enough, who knows? In the meantime, good day, sir. I hope we can have a more congeni
  7. Again, I point out, this is not being done as a favor. This is very much a for profit venture. He offered a product. The price was criticized. He kept the price, but is donating a portion of the profits, which is unverifiable, but seems noble enough. He already has pictures, but has delayed product release to refine the end merchandise quality. All well and good. Far from, "doing a favor." And if Aaron wants to stand up a for profit photography business, his fuel and mileage expenses can be written off in his next tax return. Since he's choosing to sell these things, it's not a "fav
  8. I'm sorry, but exactly what brought that rant on? Aaron appears to be the only one here acting like less than an adult. Yes, there was a joke made using the Geico reference. Aaron's response seems rather over the top, and since he started the thread, I'm quite certain he could easily have had said joke removed, if he wanted. Instead, he decided to blow up and hurl personal insults. Who's acting childish here? As far as, " doing us a favor," I disagree. Aaron was producing these disks for a profit. "Doing us a favor" are the many folks who go to airshow and what not and post their pics
  9. For those who happen to be on teh Book of Faces, Randy Malmstrom has a public album with some rather nice detail shots of both the MH-60s and the MH-47s of the Nightstalkers. For those who cannot wait, at any rate. Just a suggestion.
  10. Fish? Yes, Waco catch fish. Here's a few from my successful expeditions for King Salmon (Chinook, outside of Alaska):
  11. Well aren't you just precious, Snowflake.
  12. Interestingly, that's the path the USAF has chosen. After the BMT at Lackland scandal and several other recent "moral crises," the AF has been restructuring developmental special duty, the enlisted rating system, and officer development programs. Among these, the senior leadership has placed increased emphasis on heritage and professionalism. This video, I think, is actually quite well done. It's the first in a series to focus on the AF Core Values, and tying them to AF heritage. I'm not usually a fan of what many refer to as "propaganda," but this is a pretty nice product. Of note thoug
  13. No offense, Stephane, but the fact you're still asking for references on these items is not confidence inspiring. I think I'll wait until you release your bulldozer kit.
  14. ARC review - 1/48 F-22 Wheels Not the only option either: Royale Resin 1/48 F-22 Wheels The key part of this statement is the part about actually bringing a product to modellers. I can order Brassin or Royale Resin wheels in one hand, and have very nicely detailed kit augmentation for either the Academy or the Hasegawa kit in short order. I can hope in the other hand for Stratosphere Models F-22 wheels. I'm pretty sure I know which hand ends up empty.
  15. Notably, none of which requires the attributes toted by A-10 adherents as "absolutely essential for CAS: low, slow, eyeballs on the target, soaking up small arms fire and AAA, dodging shoulder fired SAMs, living in a titanium bathtub and getting the hell beat out of your airframe because every peasant with a rifle can shoot at you. Etc.
  16. Debunking CAS Myths Relevant every time this discussion comes up. The hyperbole concerning the AF, CAS, the A-10, and the "good old days" of the Army Air Corps is just ridiculous. It's grown to mythical proportions and is facilitated by folks who have no actual connections to the process or challenges associated with providing CAS. Murph's correct; the AF has spent so much time and resources in the past 14 years retooling for CAS that it has come at the expense of numerous other missions. And considering the presidential directed pivot to the Pacific requires as significantly different sk
  17. Fuji - Does it have to be the Bronco kit? I've got the Trumpeter version, and I'm not using the CL tank.
  18. As mentioned, it's an antenna associated with the ALQ-135 system. There is a blister on both the upper and lower forward fuselage, just aft of the radome. I'd wager to guess many of the Guard jets you saw were older A-models, and thus not equipped with the system. As C-models have migrated to the Guard, most of them are now equipped with these blisters. Notably, back when Tyndall had the F-15C training mission, those aircraft did NOT have the ALQ-135 installed, and did not have the blister antennas. Also note, D-model aircraft lack the avionics boxes in Bay-5 found on the single seaters,
