do the decals for the inside of the canopy go on clear( transparent) or does it fog em

okay so here i am painting this !/48 scale F-14A to the colors mentioned in the decals and the dark ghost gray looks too dark. i am painting it the two toned gray with the black tails. is this normal for this particular airplane?

does(did) the tomcat ever use the AIM-120 AMRAAM operationally? my hasegawa kit plans say you can mount it as a weapon but the M.A.T.S site says no.....

i just read in combat illustrated that alaska is getting the F-22(so is hawaii). but it says the squadron getting them is the 90th FS which flies the F-15E is this true? the article says they are to be mission ready by 2007

okay i just read that the new F-22 squadron in alaska is going to be the 90th FS. its supposed to be mission ready by 2007. does anyone know more info??

just my 2 cents but..... if you are looking to build up you confidence after a modelling layoff, i would recommend buying the r/m F-15E in 1/48 scale. a few reasons are that its easy to put together, minimum paint colors, it looks great when built, and you dont need to convert anything. again my 2 cents and post pics when you are done

since i don't know the answer to this question, does anyone know what Tomcat squadrons had what type of F-14's ? (i.e. when they transitioned from the A model to the B or D models) thanks in advanced :lol: and to the pilots, mechanics and friends of the Tomcat.... I bow in respect <_<

on 9-8-06 i bought the aires F-14A cockpit set and on 9-15-06 i will get the black box F-14D cockpit set

okay so heres the dill (pickle)..... i am going to build an F-14A from VF-14 serial number 162698 decals form eagle strike (48052A). so is it the original beaver tail or the new one?

ok ok ok..... i kinow this has been covered in like 4 or 5 different areas but i thought we could put this in one post. what are the closest colors in the tamiya line for both spray can and bottles for the F-14 tomcat?

does anyone know when the beaver tail on the F-14 changed ? is it that big of a deal depending on the F-14A? :D
