  1. Looking for 2 of these for my latest project. FOR USAF they are LAU-68 or LAU-131 rocket launchers The US Army version is a M260 Hyrda rocket launcher for helicopters Any of these will suffice Greatly appreciate any replies to having some available. Thanks Scott
  2. Here is an update on my request. I was able to reach out to the Papa Wolf for this timeframe, Mr. Gene Morris and here is his response. "I was Papa Wolf before and for all of the Cambodia missions and the E Cambodia configuration was 2 Aim 7s in the missile bays (sometimes), Lau-3s on two inboard wing pylons and two wing fuel tanks on the outboard pylons. No centerline stores were carried and no ECM pods for Cambodia. I am positive this was the configuration for the Cornelius/Smallwood flight when they were lost. I remember it well. "
  3. Hello, I am seeking information on what a possible payload would be for F-4E fast FAC missions flown by Wolf FAC out of Ubon during the 72-73 timeframe. This for an F-4E build in honor of the crew in the last USAF F-4E loss in combat. On 16 Jun 73, 336TFS 67-0374 with Capt. Cornelius and Capt. Smallwood as crew was downed by enemy fire while on a Wolf FAC mission, both listed as MIA and later KIA. My mission is to have as accurate as possible the payload that may of been carried on this fast FAC mission. If I had to guess I would say this is possible; 2 x LAU-3 rocket launchers inboard
  4. OOOPs..............must of been the beers the night before, ,,,or the Soju. Thanks, should of known better!!
  5. 78-0744 was the last one built in St. Louis. I know it is here in Korea someplace,,, getting very close as here is the second to last, 78-0743. This photo was shot at Cheonju AB by a Munitions friend of mine out at EOR. Once 744 is in fact found, I'll do all I can to get detailed photos.
  6. I live and work in Korea currently. I can tell you for sure that the ROK F-4E's are in Taegu at K2 Airbase. This base is also a commercial airport. In addition F4E's fly out of Cheonju AB, about 2 hrs south of Seoul. True Phanthom Phans will know that the last MD built F4 in St Louis was sold to Korea. I have a photo of the 2nd to last one which is based out of Cheonju 78-0743. I have it in my Photobucket here http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb264/P...-91/Takeoff.jpg I'm on a quest to find the last one 78-0744. Getting onto a ROKAF base is going to be impossible unless
  7. Here is a pic of my Osan F-4, had yet to put the weapons load out and the final dull clear coat. Below that is the pic I used for reference.
  8. I dont claim to be an expert, but I learned quit a bit and put my experiences on using blank white decal sheet for ink jets, along with clear for laser here at this post http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...showtopic=93144 Good Luck,,,,,,it is not really that hard.
  9. Building my first model in about 20+ years, (needed a hobby besides booze), and I wanted it to be representative of an F-4 that I worked on. Not being able to get ahold of some out of production decal sets, I jumped right in and decided to make my own. BTW the model is 1/72nd Read as much as I could find, tried many methods, and through trial and error, I think I got it. I have 2 printers, a B/W laser and a color ink jet. So I purchased Experts Choice White blank stock for the Ink Jet, and Clear blank for the laser. First the artwork. I needed Shark Mouths/Eyes, Tail Code/Number, PACAF
  10. Was at Kunsan a few days ago, had lunch at the club on base. Wandered into the lounge and saw a ton of BG Robin Olds stuff. There was a meeting going on in the room so I did not stay long to take many pics, but did take thes two. There was a F-16 tail in the room as well, couldn't get close to that. I'll go back and get some more in a few weeks
  11. TDY= Temporary Duty assignment or the military's version of an extended Business Trip. In the military they can last from a day or two to several months. Depends on where they are going and what they are doing.
  12. I like it!!!!!! That is one damn good idea,, Thanks
  13. This topic has been a joy to research and along the way some cool stories have come up. To further add some flavor to this, I have been put in touch with the 388th Wing Historian, a civilian, Mr Vandenburg. He sent me an e-mail that he is TDY until the 25th of July and will get further info on this when he returns. He did however send me a detailed history of the 388th in SEA from 64-70. Good stuff!!!!
