  1. I agree that the nose area still looks a bit "chunky" - at least in this photo - but I'm hoping this is due to black tulip. In any case it is better (to my eye at least) than the first iteration. Can't wait to get my copy of this kit...
  2. I bought it from scalehobbyist.com. HTH
  3. I'm building it OOB. I closed the fuselage without any important issues - so far I only had to thin one part of the front IP to get it to fit. No idea about accuracy. HTH
  4. Revell is the old kit, yes. I have Lone Wulf and Owl camera housings, not for trade though. HTH
  5. Out of the box G-10 = Hasegawa or Revell, G-4 = Hasegawa, F-4 = Zvezda, Hasegawa or ICM. I haven't seen ICM 109 in person, so I don't know if it has camera bits. RB50 camera housing is available separately, I think I have 2 different ones at home (resin). I can check if you're interested.
  6. I can recommend book "Ship Models from Kits" by David Griffith. His advice is targeted at building small scale models, mostly waterline. Helped me more than anything I could find online. HTH
  7. ... in stock at SB. Not my favorite a/c, but am tempted...
  8. I'd say lesson 1 is: do not over-engineer, use 1 part lower wing like everyone else. Same goes for the engine cowling, since I have no desire to show the engine. I'd put in the panel you refer to before anything else - had issues with them in both of my builds. My 2 cents.

    Moskit Exhausts

I ordered Rexx 109 exhaust from Jadar, and it took them forever to get it - maybe 3-4 months? It was in early 2013.
  10. How do your posts contribute to this topic? I'd suggest you take issues you have with other people off board - unless you want to warn about dishonest traders/sellers, etc. Have a good one.
  11. Zvezda on the left, Eduard on the right.
  12. I'm talking about the kits, not what they build into. If you think Zvezda is gorgeous, take a look at Eduard Spitfire. You may have to come up with a new word (scrumtrulescent? ;)).
  13. Not the word I'd use, and I like the kit a lot. I'd say it's detailed and accurate, and it goes together generally well if you take your time with it. I think most people would describe Eduard 109 kit as gorgeous - plastic, instructions and decals are top notch. Canopy glazing is oversized to me - both too wide and too tall. Slats, flaps, ailerons, rudder, tail wheel, exhaust - if you want to be picky, it's not just the 2 main sprues with fuselage and wings that need to be fixed. Of course, there's a difference between trying to get everything spot on, and altering molds to get the mode
  14. He said "part, the rest isn't". I'm surprised by how non-confrontational he sounded, actually :). I'm even more curious now about how will they handle this - opportunity to score or loose a bunch of PR points.
  15. That's what I was thinking - if they make a better fuselage for an F (for example), they would not be able to use remaining sprues as they are. From the parts included that clearly was the plan.
  16. I'd compare to Zvezda and kept flaps in the same position - the photo makes Eduard wings look even longer than they are. I'm curious what will Eduard do - esp. about any future versions.
  17. Understandable, but I think these missiles and pylons were designed by their 'A-Team' ;). To me Eduard looks better than Karaya/FM Details, SOL, etc. My 2 cents.
  18. Eduard makes R-60, R-73 and R-27 sets (Brassin), which include pylons for MiG-29. Those are the dark gray parts shown by Mario above. I don't think they were conceived to correct GWH parts, but rather as add-ons for any kit.
  19. For me the wingspan is not too obvious, the bulkiness of the fuselage is what makes it stick out.
  20. No, I think the sprues are set up for an F/early G down the line - the main wheels look to be 650x150 and 660x160.
  21. These clearly are brake lines - pretty weird way to represent them, I agree. Instructions also indicate to use the smaller main wheels for some reason, even though the larger ones are on the sprue. And the rear wheels are both too small - but that's a tiny issue ;).
  22. We must have different sensibilities - the nose kills it for me. Hopefully Zvezda will settle it for us at some point :).
